Otamanok Lightroot (anagram of Tamonako Shrine) stands at the geological boundary between the Akkala and Lanayru Depths — one of the few locations in the entire underground where two distinct rock types meet in a visible, sharp interface. The western half of the chamber is dark basalt from Akkala volcanic deposits; the eastern half is pale Lanayru limestone, the transition line running diagonally through the lightroot's own base. This dual-geology interface creates unique mining opportunities: Rubies and volcanic minerals cluster in the western basalt section, while Luminous Stones and Opal are embedded in the eastern limestone — two separate deposit types within 20 meters of each other. The chamber itself is large and relatively enemy-light, making it a preferred resupply and equipment-management checkpoint for players traversing between regions. A Bargainer Statue occupies a recess in the limestone wall on the eastern side, making this one of the more accessible trading points in the Akkala-Lanayru border zone. Gloom levels are moderate — below Akkala regional average — due to the limestone's apparent dampening effect on Gloom saturation.
