About This Lightroot

Ukahihs Lightroot (anagram of Shihaku Shrine) sits at the terminus of the most extensive lava tube network in the Eldin Depths — a system of 7 connected tubes bored through the volcanic substrate by ancient magma that drained and left hollow passages. The tubes are the only navigable path across the magma field that surrounds Ukahihs from three sides; all other approaches are blocked by active lava too wide to cross. Inside the tubes, lava drops fall from ceiling cracks at irregular intervals — the pattern is readable with patience but punishes inattention. The drops deal fire damage and create temporary lava puddles that persist for 8-10 seconds. Fire Lizalfos guard the main tube entrance (3 at the mouth, 2 inside the first junction) and use the narrow tube geometry to prevent sidesteps. An Igneo Talus occupies the magma plain 80 meters southwest of the lightroot — its territory boundary clips the southern approach tube exit, making the eastern exit the preferred route. Obsidian deposits cluster at the tube exits where cooling was fastest; a Bargainer Statue stands against the northern cavern wall, partially integrated into an obsidian formation as if it grew there. Flamebreaker Armor mandatory for entire approach. Chain navigation: north hub for upper Eldin Depths, connecting to Akinatakas.
