About Mineru

Mineru is the ancient Sage of Spirit and the last surviving Zonai, elder sibling of King Rauru himself. Having lived for thousands of years in a weakened spiritual state, she preserved her consciousness through a series of Shrine-like challenges and ultimately transfers her spirit into a massive construct mech for Link to pilot. Mineru's backstory — revealed through the Dragon Tears and Spirit Temple questline — is one of TotK's most hauntingly beautiful side narratives. Her construct is fully customizable with Zonai devices: attaching cannons, rocket launchers, or flame emitters to its arms transforms it into a devastating ranged combatant. The construct is immune to Gloom, making it uniquely valuable for navigating the deepest Depths regions. It can also cross lava, water, and other hazardous terrain that would damage Link directly. The Spirit Temple itself is accessed through the Thunderhead Isles in the sky above Faron — one of the most difficult navigation puzzles in the game. Mineru's post-quest farewell is one of TotK's most emotional moments.
