Step-by-Step Walkthrough
1
Find the Flamboyant Gerudo
Southeast of Gerudo Town, near the entrance to the Arbiter's Grounds ruins, you encounter a boisterous Gerudo warrior named Ponthos who insists she has discovered an ancient hero's burial site. Her enthusiasm is boundless but her preparation is questionable — she has no map and one broken sword. She proposes exploring together, claiming glory awaits inside and inviting Link to follow her lead.
2
Navigate the Shifting Sand Traps
Inside the Arbiter's Grounds, the floor is riddled with sand sinkholes that pull anything standing on them downward within seconds. Move quickly across the sand sections or use the stone pillars as stepping stones with Ultrahand to build bridges across wide sand patches. Ponthos rushes ahead impetuously and occasionally gets partially swallowed — pull her out with Ultrahand before she sinks too deep.
3
Evade the Molduga Patrol
The main burial hall is guarded by a Molduga — the giant sand shark creature that detects vibrations through the sand. Move only when it dives and avoid walking on loose sand for extended periods. Use the raised stone platforms as safe zones. Ponthos's loud personality makes stealth difficult here — keep her close and use Sidon's water shield ability to absorb any Molduga lunges if combat becomes unavoidable.
4
Reach the Burial Chamber and Claim the Treasure
At the deepest point of the ruins, a sealed stone door bears the insignia of an ancient Gerudo hero. Ponthos recites the hero's name loudly (this, it turns out, is the actual key — a voice-activated lock). The door opens into a well-preserved chamber with two treasure chests: the Gerudo Claymore (a large two-handed sword with high base damage) and a pouch containing three Topaz gemstones used in armor and weapon enhancements.
