Receive the Assignment from Josha at Lookout Landing

Josha in the Lookout Landing underground research lab has identified five ancient Zonai miner's stone tablets scattered through the Depths based on partial text she intercepted in a ruined Zonai relay station. The tablets document the original purpose of the Depths mining operations. She marks approximate locations on the Purah Pad and provides Brightbloom Seeds for underground navigation.

Retrieve the Tablets from the Akkala and Eldin Depths

The first two tablets are in the Depths beneath Akkala and Eldin. The Akkala Depths tablet sits on a stone pedestal near the Abandoned Akkala Mine ruins — the mine structure is partially intact and the tablet is at the foreman's station. The Eldin Depths tablet is near a Flux Construct ruins cluster beneath Death Mountain. Both are freestanding and can simply be picked up and placed in Link's inventory.

Collect the Remaining Three Tablets from Faron, Lanayru, and Central Depths

The Faron Depths tablet is at the base of a large Gloom-covered Zonai pillar beneath Lake Floria. Use a Sundelion meal to restore any Gloom damage to Link's hearts before approaching. The Lanayru tablet is in a flooded underground cave requiring Zora Armor to reach. The Central Depths tablet is inside an active Yiga Clan outpost — either stealth past the guards or clear them to access the inner sanctum where the tablet rests.

Deliver All Five Tablets to Josha

Return all five tablets to Josha. She spends the night translating and presents Link with the findings: the Depths mining operations were not purely for Zonaite extraction — the Zonai were running a Gloom containment operation millennia ago. This lore connects directly to Ganondorf's imprisonment and the Upheaval. Josha provides 30 Zonaite and a formal research report worth 100R at the Lookout Landing trading post.
