Step-by-Step Walkthrough

1

Meet the Lighthouse Keeper at Cape Cales

Travel northeast from East Akkala Stable along the coastal road to Cape Cales. The keeper Palos stands at the base of the lighthouse tower, anxiously scanning the dark bay below. He explains the Upheaval knocked the Zonai Flame Emitter from its mounting bracket at the top of the tower. Without the beacon, ships from Lanayru cannot safely navigate the rocky Akkala coast at night.

2

Climb the Lighthouse Tower

Ascend the exterior spiral staircase or use Ascend to phase through the tower's floors directly. At the summit platform, the Flame Emitter lies on its side in the corner — it rolled off the central mounting pedestal during the Upheaval tremors. The pedestal has a socket where the emitter clearly belongs, with mounting brackets still intact and a Zonai power conduit ready to receive it.

3

Reattach the Flame Emitter

Pick up the Flame Emitter using Ultrahand and carefully rotate it upright. Lower it onto the mounting pedestal socket until it clicks into place — the Zonai conduit activates and the emitter ignites with a steady golden flame. The lighthouse beam sweeps across the bay immediately. Descend the tower to speak with Palos, who can see the light from the base.

4

Hear the Shipwreck Tale and Claim Your Reward

Palos is overjoyed and thanks Link profusely. He tells the tale of the Akkala merchant ship that wrecked on the rocks two decades before the Upheaval — its cargo of gemstones is still rumored to sit in the deep water near the northern reef. He marks the reef coordinates on the Purah Pad and rewards Link with an Opal and Sapphire from his personal collection.
