Step-by-Step Walkthrough
1
Receive the Quest from Toffa at Outskirt Stable
Speak with Toffa at Outskirt Stable after the Upheaval. He is distressed — Princess Zelda's beloved Royal White Stallion was spooked by a Gloom eruption and fled the royal paddock near Hyrule Castle. The horse ran west toward Hyrule Ridge and was last seen near Sanidin Park Ruins. Toffa asks Link to find the horse and bring it back, noting it is gentle and will not need aggressive taming.
2
Track the Stallion to Hyrule Ridge
Head northwest from Outskirt Stable toward Sanidin Park Ruins on Hyrule Ridge. The Royal White Stallion stands near the stone ruins on the grassy plateau — its pure white coat and Royal Crest brand make it unmistakable. Unlike the Giant White Horse, this horse is calm and approachable. Walk up slowly without sprinting and it will allow Link to mount without bolting.
3
Mount the Stallion and Bond with It
Climb onto the Royal White Stallion's back. It accepts Link immediately and requires only a brief soothing moment to confirm the bond. The horse has high speed and decent stamina — one of the best naturally occurring horse stats in the game. It will be pre-named "White Horse" and can be renamed at the stable. Ride it directly to Outskirt Stable.
4
Register at the Stable and Receive the Rewards
Arrive at Outskirt Stable and register the Royal White Stallion. The stable hand recognizes the Royal Crest brand and is moved by the reunion. As Toffa promised, the Royal Saddle and Royal Bridle are provided — Zelda's original gear, preserved in the stable's storage. The stallion is now registered to Link and can be called from any stable going forward.
