Lightroots are the backbone of Depths navigation — each one illuminates a wide area, heals Gloom damage, and unlocks as a fast travel point. Efficient Depths traversal: (1) Before descending, study your surface shrine map and identify 3-4 shrines that correspond to your target Lightroot area (reversed name = Lightroot below). (2) Drop through the chasm closest to your target. (3) Navigate using the pale stone Zonai roads between Lightroots — they form a network that mirrors the surface path system. (4) Once you unlock 5+ Lightroots in a region, use fast travel to hop between them instead of walking. Giant Brightbloom Seeds placed at Lightroot hubs extend their effective illumination radius.
