Essential Tips

Bomb every wall face. Zelda 1 hides shops, shortcuts, and Heart Containers behind bombable walls with zero visual cues.

Get the White Sword ASAP at 5 hearts — it doubles your damage and makes Dungeons 3-6 manageable.

The Recorder (from Dungeon 5) reveals Dungeon 7 — use it on the lake in western Hyrule.

Blue Ring halves all damage taken. Save 250 rupees early and buy it from the hidden shop.

Ganon is invisible in Dungeon 9. Hit him 4 times with the sword, then finish with Silver Arrows.

In the Second Quest, every dungeon entrance moves. The overworld map layout doesn't change but items shuffle.
