Kakariko Village Guide — Secrets, Geoglyphs, Stealth Armor & Quests
Kakariko Village Guide — Stealth Armor & Geoglyphs
Kakariko Village is TotK's Sheikah town — home of the Sheikah elder Impa, the Stealth Armor set, and the starting point for the Dragon's Tears geoglyph questline. It's one of the game's most content-dense early villages. This guide covers everything you need from Kakariko.
Getting to Kakariko Village
Route: Lookout Landing → East via Wetland Stable → Necluda → Kakariko Village
The road southeast from Lookout Landing runs through the Wetland area into Necluda. Kakariko is in the hills above East Necluda — follow the road markers.
Difficulty: Standard early-game enemies (Bokoblins, Chuchus) on the road. No temperature hazard. Accessible from the start of the game.
Sheikah Sensor ping: Kakariko's shrines will ping your Sensor+ if equipped — this helps navigate the final approach through the hilly terrain.
Kakariko Village Layout
The village is tiered across several levels:
- Lower level: Main entrance, cooking area, inn, shop
- Mid level: Residential houses, wells (4 wells), side quest NPCs
- Upper level: Impa's house and the shrine access area
Services:
- Enchanted (clothing shop): Sells the Stealth Armor set
- Village inn: Basic rupee cost for full heart restore
- Cooking area: Near the inn entrance
- Vendor (Prynn): Arrows, basic food
- Dye Shop: Redd (TotK's version) — not fully active until Tarrey Town chain
Stealth Armor — Location & Stats
The Stealth Armor set is sold at Enchanted (clothing shop in Kakariko Village):
| Piece | Cost | Effect | |-------|------|--------| | Stealth Mask (head) | 500 rupees | Stealth Up | | Stealth Chest Guard | 600 rupees | Stealth Up | | Stealth Tights (legs) | 500 rupees | Stealth Up |
Total: 1,600 rupees for the full set.
Set bonus at ★★: Night Speed Up (move faster at night with full set equipped)
Full set base effect: Stealth Up ×3 — dramatically reduces noise and detection radius. Combined with a Sneaky Elixir, Link becomes nearly invisible.
Priority: Buy the Stealth Chest Guard first (highest Stealth Up value per piece). Get the full set as soon as you have 1,600 rupees.
Impa — Dragon's Tears Quest Start
Impa's house is at the upper level of the village. Speak with her:
- She tells you about seeing a dragon flying over a massive ground painting nearby
- This starts the Dragon's Tears questline (see Dragons Guide)
- She marks a nearby geoglyph location on your map
The first geoglyph is southeast of Kakariko in the Necluda hills — visible from height as a massive ground art pattern. Drop into the glowing pool at its center to collect the first Dragon's Tears memory.
Impa's follow-up: After collecting the first memory, Impa requests you find all 12 geoglyphs. She has information about their general locations if you speak with her between discoveries.
Kakariko Side Quests

Wells in Kakariko (4 Total)

- Main square well: Korok Seed (balloon type) + gem chest
- Near shrine entrance: Korok Seed (flower trail inside the chamber)
- Behind inn: Weapon chest (mid-tier sword)
- Lower village: Connects to underground passage with ore nodes + rare ingredient
See Wells Guide for full well exploration detail.
Necluda Region Exploration
Kakariko is the exploration hub for East Necluda:
Necluda Shrines (high density)
East Necluda has one of the highest shrine concentrations in the game. Sensor+ set to Shrine here is very effective — pings constantly.
Key shrines near Kakariko:
- Makasura Shrine (climbing puzzle — close to village)
- Ree Dahee Shrine (balance puzzle — south Necluda)
- Shoda Sah Shrine (motion — in the hills east of village)
Cliffside Climbing Gear Shrines
The Climbing Gear set (3 shrine chests) is located in Necluda's rocky cliff zones east of Zora's Domain. See Climbing Guide for precise shrine locations.
Dueling Peaks
The twin peaks west of Kakariko are a major landmark with multiple Korok Seeds, a stable (Dueling Peaks Stable), and Great Fairy Fountain #2 (see Great Fairy Guide).
Akkala connection
East of Kakariko and Necluda leads to the Akkala region (northeast). The road passes through South Akkala — a natural extension of Necluda exploration.
Quick Tips
- Stealth Chest Guard first — 600 rupees gets you the highest single-piece stealth boost. Then add the rest when funds allow.
- Talk to Impa immediately — Dragon's Tears is one of the game's best questlines and starting it early means you'll naturally collect memories during normal exploration
- 4 wells = 4 Korok Seeds minimum — never leave Kakariko without clearing all 4 wells. One of the highest Korok-per-town values in the game.
- Kakariko to Zora's Domain: The north road from Kakariko heads up into Lanayru → Zora's Domain approach. Natural questline chaining: Kakariko → Zora quest → Water Temple.
- Climbing Gear in Necluda: The Climbing Gear set is the highest-priority armor for early game. Kakariko is the base of operations for the shrine hunt — check off all 3 climbing gear shrines while in the region.
