About This Lightroot

Iayusus occupies the northernmost accessible cavern in the Akkala Depths, corresponding to Susuyai Shrine in the Akkala Highlands near the peninsula's northeastern tip. The cave system here was carved by ancient glacial drainage rather than volcanic activity, giving the walls a distinctive smooth-worn limestone character unlike the angular basalt of deeper Akkala tunnels. A large Zonaite seam runs along the cave's northern wall in an unbroken 40-meter strip — one of the longer continuous deposits in the region, making this a high-value mining stop for players building Zonaite stockpiles. Yiga Clan scouts patrol the main approach corridor in pairs on a rotating schedule; they carry Soldier's Broadswords with Zonaite fusions and will call reinforcements if you engage at range. An abandoned mine cart network branches off the central chamber — the eastern branch dead-ends at a collapsed shaft, but the western branch is navigable by activating a dormant mine cart and reaches a sealed ore cache. Chain navigation: approach from Duoninat Lightroot to the south along the eastern Akkala wall. The Yiga patrol timing allows a stealth bypass through the mine cart tunnel if you avoid triggering the pair near the cart station.
