Step-by-Step Walkthrough

1

Enter the Underground Maze

The entrance to the Gerudo Underground Maze is in the Gerudo Canyon, south of the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower — look for a sand-covered staircase descending into a cave mouth partially buried by drifted sand. Clear the sand from the entrance with a gust from Ultrahand or a Zonai fan. Inside, the air is thick with fine sand and the maze walls shift on sand currents, periodically rerouting the paths.

2

Follow the Shrine Chime Through Level One

The Soryotanog Shrine emits a faint resonant chime audible through the sand walls. Stand still and listen — the chime comes from a consistent direction even as sand walls shift. Level one has four branching paths; follow the direction the chime is loudest. Avoid the sand trap depressions in the floor — stepping in them sinks Link slowly; use Ascend to escape if caught.

3

Navigate Levels Two and Three

Level two introduces rolling sand boulders that patrol the corridors — time your runs between their passes. Level three has the thickest sand drifts and the shifting walls are most active here. Use the Sensor+ on the Purah Pad to track the shrine's signal if available. Key landmark: a carved Gerudo relief of a dancer on the east wall of level three points toward the correct final corridor.

4

Activate Soryotanog Shrine

The maze's deepest chamber opens into a stable sandy room where the Soryotanog Shrine rests. Activate the shrine seal. Its interior puzzle involves navigating sand currents — ride sand flows and use Ultrahand to redirect sand stream emitters to create paths through the shrine chambers. The final room requires burying and unburying specific floor switches with sand. Complete for a Light of Blessing.

Pro Tips

1

Use Ultrahand to look for hidden objects or movable platforms you might have missed.

2

If stuck, try looking at the puzzle from a different angle — literally. Use Ascend to reach higher vantage points.

3

Cook Hearty meals to gain temporary bonus hearts. Hearty Durians are the most efficient.

4

Consider equipping the Fierce Deity Set or Barbarian Armor for maximum attack power before the hardest encounters.

5

The Gerudo Desert has Molduga bosses roaming the sands. Avoid their vibration range unless you are ready to fight.

6

Use your Purah Pad Sensor+ to track quest-related items and materials as you explore.
