Quest Overview

Prince Sidon's aide Torfeau is overseeing a Zora engineering project to restore a water canal that channels clean water from Lanayru Great Spring to Zora's Domain after Sludge blocked the original route. Three canal sections are clogged with hardened Sludge deposits. Link must use Sidon's Water ability combined with Bomb Flowers to blast the deposits clear, restoring water flow to each section.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

1

Receive the Canal Project Briefing from Torfeau

Torfeau is at the first canal section northeast of Zora's Domain. The original water route was a masterpiece of Zora engineering — gravity-fed channels carved directly into the mountain stone. Three sections are now packed with hardened Sludge from the Upheaval. The Sludge is too dense for Zora water attacks alone but is vulnerable to concussive force. Link's combination of Sidon's Water shield and Bomb Flowers can crack the deposits.

2

Clear Canal Section One — Upper Channel

The first clog is in the upper channel at 40-meter elevation. A two-meter-thick Sludge deposit blocks the primary intake. Use Sidon's Water ability to create a pressurized water shield, then detonate a Bomb Flower at the deposit's center crack. The water pressure focuses the blast and the Sludge fractures. Clear the fragments with Ultrahand and drop them off the channel edge.

3

Clear Canal Section Two — The Cascade Drop

The second clog is at the cascade drop where the canal descends sharply — a 25-meter waterfall route. The Sludge here is thicker (3 meters) and hardened to near-stone consistency. Requires two Bomb Flowers detonated in sequence with Sidon's Water between each. Clear in two passes; between detonations, redirect flow through the emergency bypass channel using Ultrahand to move the bypass gate.

4

Clear Canal Section Three — The Domain Inlet

The third and final clog is at the Domain Inlet, 50 meters from Zora's Domain's walls. This deposit is the largest — five meters thick and reinforced with crystallized mineral deposits from decades of water flow over the Sludge. Three Bomb Flower detonations with Sidon's Water. After the third detonation, a full Zora Water Surge (holding ZR with Sidon's ability active) blasts the remainder clear.

5

Confirm Flow Restoration with Torfeau

Return to Torfeau and confirm all three sections are clear. She activates the canal system's control valve. Water flows from the Great Spring intake, through all three cleared sections, and into Zora's Domain's central fountain — the first clean flow in months. Domain citizens gather to watch. Torfeau rewards Link with three Luminous Stones, two Opals, and a formal letter of gratitude from Prince Sidon for the upgrade materials.
