Step-by-Step Walkthrough

1

Find Malanya's Flower Bud Near Lake Akkala

Northeast of East Akkala Stable, follow the road around Lake Akkala toward the northern shore. A massive flower bud identical in style to a Great Fairy's fountain but with a horse motif stands dormant at the lakeside clearing. The bud pulses with a faint golden light, indicating Malanya is inside but asleep. There is no obvious offering mechanism at first — speaking with nearby travelers reveals that Malanya requires a special awakening payment.

2

Acquire an Endura Carrot

Malanya's awakening requires an Endura Carrot — a golden carrot found on small horse-shaped stone pedestals at Satori Mountain and occasionally near Sanidin Park Ruins. These carrots are sacred to horse spirits and the Lord of the Mountain. Travel to Satori Mountain's summit (northwest of Hyrule Field) when the mountain glows blue — the Lord of the Mountain's presence signals that Endura Carrots are accessible on the stone pedestals there.

3

Offer the Endura Carrot to Awaken Malanya

Return to Malanya's bud and offer the Endura Carrot at the pedestal. The bud blooms dramatically — petals unfold to reveal Malanya, a fairy in the form of a horse-antlered spirit. She thanks Link for waking her and explains her power: she can revive any horse that has died (killed by enemies, fallen into a ravine, or died in combat) for a modest fee of materials and Rupees. She also provides Link with three Endura Carrots as a housewarming gift.

4

Use Malanya's Revival Service

Access Malanya's revival list at the fountain — all horses that have died during your adventure appear here, identified by name and appearance. Choose a deceased horse and pay the revival fee (typically 1,000 Rupees and a basic material offering like Apples or Tabantha Wheat). The horse is immediately revived and appears at the nearest registered stable. Malanya is the only way to recover lost horses permanently.
