Find Penn at His Roadside Camp Near East Akkala Stable

Penn, the traveling journalist for the Hyrule Journal, is camped on the road near East Akkala Stable with his notebook out and a worried expression. He has received a tip from a local shepherd about a cave on the Akkala Highlands that glows brilliant blue every night and has symbols scratched into its walls that no one can read. Penn wants photos and an inscription rubbing, but the cave is too dangerous for him to enter alone.

Locate the Glowing Cave in the Akkala Highlands

The cave is in the rocky highlands northeast of East Akkala Stable — look for a hillside opening with a faint blue glow visible even in daylight. The glow comes from a dense cluster of Luminous Stones embedded in the cave walls and ceiling, creating a natural bioluminescent effect. The cave is shallow but the Zonai inscriptions cover three full wall panels near the back.

Photograph the Inscriptions with the Camera App

Open the Purah Pad Camera app and photograph each of the three inscription panels. The inscriptions are in Zonai script — geometric symbols that Robbie and Josha can translate. Take clear, well-framed shots of each panel without excessive Luminous Stone glare. Three photos are required. Also use Ultrahand to rotate the loose stones near the inscriptions to check for carvings on their undersides — two additional symbol sets are on the floor stones.

Deliver the Evidence to Penn

Return to Penn with the five photographs. He is thrilled — the quality is sufficient for full-page reproduction in the Hyrule Journal. He forwards copies to Josha at Lookout Landing for translation and writes up the story that evening. When the Journal issue publishes, Penn rewards Link with five Luminous Stones he collected at the cave entrance and 80 Rupees for the field journalism work.
