Adventure Overview

The Master Sword was shattered during the encounter with Ganondorf beneath Hyrule Castle. Zelda took the broken blade into the past, where she infused it with sacred power over millennia by becoming the Light Dragon. To recover it, Link must find the Light Dragon soaring through the skies.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Complete the Regional Phenomena

Finish all four main dungeons (Wind, Fire, Water, Lightning Temples) to power up Link and gain the Sages' aid.

Collect Dragon Tear Memories

Find enough Dragon Tear memories to learn about Zelda's transformation into the Light Dragon. This reveals the Master Sword's location.

Find the Light Dragon

The Light Dragon flies in a set circuit across the skies of Hyrule. Use Skyview Towers to launch yourself into the sky and spot the golden dragon.

Land on the Light Dragon

Paraglide onto the Light Dragon's back and approach the glowing sword embedded in its head. Pull the Master Sword free in a dramatic sequence.

Dragon's Tears

Twelve geoglyphs are scattered across Hyrule, each containing a tear-shaped pool that reveals a memory of Zelda's time in the ancient past. Visit all twelve geoglyphs to piece together the full story of the Imprisoning War, Rauru's sacrifice, and Zelda's transformation into the Light Dragon.

The Master Sword was damaged in the battle beneath Hyrule Castle and is now embedded in the head of the Light Dragon circling high above Hyrule. To reclaim the legendary blade, you must locate the Light Dragon, land on its head, and pull the sword free — but only if you have enough hearts to withstand its power.

The Great Deku Tree in Korok Forest has been corrupted by Gloom emanating from the Depths below. To cleanse the forest and restore the Deku Tree, you must descend into the Depths beneath Korok Forest and defeat the Phantom Ganon lurking in the Gloom-infested roots.

After completing all four Regional Phenomena temples and collecting the Dragon's Tears memories, Purah and the sages speak of a legendary fifth sage whose power is needed to face Ganondorf. Follow the trail of clues left across Hyrule to discover the identity and location of this final ally.
