Description

A fearsome three-headed fire dragon. One of the most challenging overworld bosses, requiring coordinated ice-element attacks on all three heads simultaneously to create damage windows.

Weakness

Flame Gleeok's primary weakness is All three heads stunned simultaneously with ice arrows.

How to Beat Flame Gleeok

  1. Flame Gleeoks are three-headed fire-breathing dragons found in several overworld locations.
  2. They are among the most dangerous non-Lynel overworld bosses and require careful preparation and execution.
  3. Preparation: Equip the Flamebreaker Armor set or consume fireproof elixirs — the fire breath and ambient heat will damage you otherwise.
  4. Bring at least thirty ice-element arrows (fuse Ice Fruit or White Chuchu Jelly to arrows).
  5. A strong melee weapon with high attack power is essential for the grounded damage phase.
  6. Phase 1 — Ground Combat: The Flame Gleeok attacks with three simultaneous fire breath streams that sweep across the arena, individual head lunges, and fire projectile volleys.
  7. Stay at medium range and focus on stunning all three heads in rapid succession.
  8. Each head must be hit with an ice-fused arrow to stun it — the stun lasts only a few seconds, so you need to shoot all three heads quickly before the first one recovers.
  9. Use bullet-time by jumping from a height or using a Zonai device to slow time, then rapidly target each head.
  10. When all three heads are stunned simultaneously, the Gleeok crashes to the ground and is completely vulnerable.
  11. Rush in with your strongest melee weapon and deal as much damage as possible during this approximately eight-second window.
  12. Phase 2 — Aerial Phase: At roughly half health, the Flame Gleeok launches into the sky and hovers above the arena.
  13. It rains down massive fireballs that create persistent fire pools on impact.
  14. It also performs sweeping fire breath attacks from altitude that cover enormous swaths of ground.
  15. Use the updrafts created by the fire to paraglide upward, then enter bullet-time to shoot ice arrows at the heads.
  16. Alternatively, use a Zonai spring or rocket to gain height for a bullet-time window.
  17. The aerial phase is the most dangerous part of the fight because the fireballs hit hard and the fire pools restrict movement.
  18. Stay mobile, use the updrafts strategically, and be patient — wait for clean shots on all three heads rather than wasting arrows on single heads that will recover before you can stun the others.
