All Faron Shrines Guide — Tears of the Kingdom

The Faron region covers the lush tropical rainforest of South Hyrule, stretching from Lake Hylia south to the Faron Sea coastline, with Lurelin Village as its main settlement. It contains 16 shrines spread across dense jungle terrain, coastal islands, submerged cave systems, and high jungle plateaus. Faron is visually stunning but navigationally demanding — the dense rainforest canopy obscures landmarks and shrine icons until you're nearly on top of them.

Farosh the electric dragon patrols the Faron region daily, spawning at the Spring of Courage near Mount Lanayru and looping northwest toward Lake Hylia at dawn. Plan shrine runs to overlap with Farosh's route for efficient dragon farming.

Preparation Before Faron Shrines

No mandatory heat or cold resistance. Faron's warm climate avoids temperature damage during normal exploration. However, several shrines have specific environmental demands.

Bring:

  • Rubber Armor or Shock-Resist food (if farming Farosh simultaneously — electric field can stun Link)
  • Zora Armor or water-breathing food (several shrines near water, one requires underwater access)
  • Brightbloom Seeds (jungle cave shrines are dark)
  • Flurry Rush practice — Makurukara's Lynel is optional but rewards the brave
  • Paraglider proficiency — coastal sea-stack shrines require accurate gliding

Fast travel anchor: Activate the Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower early for aerial coverage of central and east Faron. The Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower covers northeast Faron including the Spring of Courage. Naydra's Spring shrine requires dragon quest completion — plan this as a late-region objective.

Farosh farming integration: Farosh spawns at the Spring of Courage (05:00 game time) and follows the Dracozu River west. Completing shrines along the Dracozu River while waiting for Farosh is efficient use of in-game time.

Complete Faron Shrine List

1. Dakayas Shrine — Water & Ultrahand Puzzle

Location: Faron region, near the Dracozu River or Popla Foothills area Puzzle Type: Ultrahand / water interaction Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆

A medium-difficulty shrine combining Ultrahand manipulation with water flow. Link must redirect or dam water using Ultrahand-moved objects to create crossing points or activate pressure mechanisms.

Tips:

  • Seal water channels completely before trying to activate downstream switches — partial sealing wastes effort
  • Use flat boards to bridge water gaps rather than fighting the current with floating objects
  • Check beneath water surfaces for a hidden chest before proceeding to the altar

2. Tokiy Shrine — Combat Trial: Construct

Location: Faron region, accessible via jungle or coastal path Puzzle Type: Combat (Proving Grounds — Flurry Rush emphasis) Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆

A combat proving grounds trial focused on Construct enemies. The mechanics emphasize flurry rush and the construct-specific weakness to targeted core strikes. Weapons are not provided inside — bring your own.

Tips:

  • Flurry rush is the primary DPS mechanic — dodge sideways when the Construct charges and chain into flurry strikes
  • The Construct's core is exposed briefly after each attack sequence — strike the glowing orange sphere for bonus damage
  • Don't waste arrows on non-core shots; save them to stagger the Construct mid-combo

3. Jiukoum Shrine — Jungle Buoyancy Puzzle

Location: Faron jungle, near water — requires locating amid dense rainforest canopy Puzzle Type: Ultrahand / buoyancy / water-float mechanics Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆

A shrine built around buoyancy physics in the jungle waterways. Ultrahand objects of varying density must be combined to create rafts that float Link across water barriers at precisely the right height.

Tips:

  • Wider objects float better than narrow ones — combine two planks side-by-side for a stable raft platform
  • Stack objects on the raft to use as steps for reaching elevated exits above water level
  • The shrine's hidden chest is on an elevated ledge only accessible mid-puzzle — don't complete the final buoyancy step before grabbing it

4. Isenrouda Shrine — Recall / Time Mechanics

Location: Faron region — in the jungle or near a water feature Puzzle Type: Recall (time reversal) Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆

A puzzle shrine built entirely around Recall — time-reversing the motion of objects to create bridges, activate switches, and navigate obstacles that move in set patterns.

Tips:

  • Watch each moving object complete a full cycle before using Recall — you need to know the full travel path to use reversal effectively
  • Recall on a descending platform creates a rising platform; time your jump to land at the platform's highest point
  • The chest in this shrine is accessible only during a specific Recall window — pay attention to timing

5. Obunobo Shrine — Rauru's Blessing

Location: Faron region — surface Shrine Quest reward Puzzle Type: Rauru's Blessing (outdoor trial) Difficulty: ★☆☆☆☆

A blessing shrine unlocked by completing an outdoor challenge or Shrine Quest in the Faron area. No puzzle inside — the trial was the exterior challenge. Walk to the altar and collect the Light of Blessing.

Tips:

  • Identify the associated outdoor objective by looking for the pale shrine glow and examining nearby NPC dialogue or environmental clues
  • The chest inside typically contains a useful early-game material

6. Jonsau Shrine — Ultrahand Water Float / Lake Hylia

Location: Lake Hylia area, north Faron — on or near the lake shore Puzzle Type: Ultrahand / water-float / buoyancy Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆

A Lake Hylia shrine combining Ultrahand and buoyancy in open water. Build or position floating platforms to cross the lake section and activate switches at different water heights.

Tips:

  • Fuse a flat board to a Zonai boat motor for traversal if the puzzle requires crossing large open water sections
  • Buoyancy in open water is more variable than in enclosed shrine channels — build wider platforms for stability
  • Farosh spawns near Lake Hylia at dawn — activate this shrine early and use it as a Farosh farming waypoint

7. Gotosu Shrine — Rauru's Blessing

Location: Faron region — outdoor Shrine Quest or exploration reward Puzzle Type: Rauru's Blessing (no puzzle) Difficulty: ★☆☆☆☆

A pure blessing shrine. The outdoor trial or hidden location was the challenge. Inside: altar and chest only.

Tips:

  • Look for environmental clues near the shrine seal — Faron's blessing shrines are often tied to visible landscape features (waterfalls, rock formations, coastline landmarks)
  • Quick completion — factor into your shrine circuit efficiency

8. Satasata Shrine — Moving Platforms / Timing

Location: Faron region — jungle or elevated terrain Puzzle Type: Ultrahand / moving platforms / timing Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆

A shrine built around timed movement across platforms that shift, rotate, or oscillate. Ultrahand can be used to modify platform positions or timing windows.

Tips:

  • Study each platform's full movement cycle before committing to a crossing — the pattern repeats predictably
  • Some platforms can be locked in position temporarily using Ultrahand during a crossing window
  • The chest in this shrine is behind a timed gate — sprint for it the moment the gate opens

9. Oshozan-u Shrine — Ultrahand Stakes / Rebound / Pin Hammer

Location: Faron region — accessible from main jungle trail or elevated approach Puzzle Type: Ultrahand / rebound / stake-pin mechanics Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆

A creative shrine using stake-and-pin physics — Link must drive stakes into surfaces with Ultrahand and use the rebound effect of a heavy object (hammer mechanic) to solve multi-stage puzzles.

Tips:

  • The stake must be fully driven into the surface for the rebound to trigger — partial insertion does not activate the mechanism
  • The hammer object can be positioned at different angles before striking — a 45° approach creates lateral rebound
  • Room 2 requires combining two stakes to build a bridge via rebound — position both stakes before striking either

10. Morasudar Shrine — Wind / Updraft / Ultrahand

Location: Faron region — elevated jungle area with wind currents Puzzle Type: Ultrahand / paraglider / wind updraft / pressure plate Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆

A wind-mechanics shrine using Zonai fans and Ultrahand to create updrafts. Link rides updrafts with the Paraglider to reach elevated platforms while manipulating Ultrahand objects mid-flight.

Tips:

  • Fan placement determines updraft direction and strength — face fans straight up for maximum vertical lift
  • Pressure plates in this shrine activate fans and other mechanisms — reach them by using lower-level fans to gain altitude first
  • You can manipulate Ultrahand objects briefly while airborne — activate a switch mid-glide to time a door opening for your landing

11. Naydra Shrine — Dragon Quest / Spring of Courage

Location: Spring of Courage, northeast Faron — requires Naydra dragon quest completion Puzzle Type: Quest shrine / dragon trial Difficulty: ★★★☆☆

One of Faron's most significant shrines — unlocked by completing the Naydra dragon quest at the Spring of Courage on Mount Lanayru's slope. Naydra is the water dragon who patrols the Faron region; the quest involves helping restore or interact with the dragon at the spring.

Tips:

  • The Spring of Courage is on the Faron/Lanayru border — approach from Lanayru Skyview Tower for easiest access
  • Naydra follows a consistent daily route from the Spring westward along the Dracozu River — time your spring visit to coincide with early morning for the dragon quest trigger
  • Naydra's scale, claw, horn, and fang each have distinct locations on the dragon body — learn them for efficient farming after quest completion
  • The shrine itself is a blessing after completing the outdoor dragon quest

12. Makurukara Shrine — Lynel Combat Trial

Location: Faron region — guarded by a powerful Lynel enemy Puzzle Type: Combat (Lynel boss) Difficulty: ★★★★★

Faron's hardest shrine — a Lynel guards the approach or the shrine is sealed until a Lynel is defeated. Lynels are the game's most demanding non-boss enemies, with melee charges, bow attacks, fire breath, and shockwave stomps.

Tips:

  • Mount the Lynel during a stagger (after a headshot or flurry rush) to deal bonus damage while draining no weapon durability — repeat this cycle for highest DPS
  • Bring a high-attack bow (60+ base) with 20+ arrows — headshots stagger the Lynel and open the mount window
  • A Lynel Horn or Saber fused to your best weapon dramatically increases damage output — save the fuse until endgame if visiting early
  • Flurry Rush on a charging Lynel: dodge sideways (not backward) at the last possible moment to trigger the window reliably

13. Jote Shrine — Rauru's Blessing

Location: Faron region — Shrine Quest or surface objective reward Puzzle Type: Rauru's Blessing (no puzzle) Difficulty: ★☆☆☆☆

A blessing shrine rewarded after completing an outdoor challenge in the Faron area. Walk in, collect the Light of Blessing and chest.

Tips:

  • Jote's associated outdoor quest may involve the dense jungle path near Lurelin Village — check with local NPCs for quest triggers
  • Pair this with nearby shrines in the Lurelin Village subregion for efficient circuit routing

14. Yomizuk Shrine — Jungle / Vine Bridge / Organic Materials

Location: Faron jungle interior — deep rainforest terrain Puzzle Type: Ultrahand / jungle / vine-bridge / organic materials Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆

A jungle-themed shrine using organic materials — vines, logs, and plant structures — as Ultrahand objects. Build vine bridges and traverse the dense jungle interior using jungle-specific physics.

Tips:

  • Vine objects have more flex than wooden planks — expect some sway in longer vine bridges; compensate by building shorter spans between anchor points
  • Logs can be rolled using Ultrahand momentum — use this to position large bridge pieces across gaps
  • The jungle materials in this shrine come from specific dispensers in each room — don't overlook items near the walls or overhead

15. Sahirow Shrine — Rauru's Blessing (Surface)

Location: Faron region surface — exploration or outdoor quest reward Puzzle Type: Rauru's Blessing Difficulty: ★☆☆☆☆

A surface blessing shrine. The outdoor exploration or trial was the challenge to access it. No combat or puzzle inside.

Tips:

  • Sahirow's location in the Faron coast or jungle makes it a natural stop on a full Faron circuit sweep
  • The chest inside may contain a rare Faron-region material

16. Larutam Shrine — Ultrahand Puzzle

Location: Faron region — jungle or elevated terrain Puzzle Type: Ultrahand (construction puzzle) Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆

A standard Ultrahand construction shrine requiring Link to build structures to cross gaps and activate mechanisms. The Faron variant uses the jungle environment — irregular surfaces and slopes affect object placement.

Tips:

  • On Faron's irregular jungle terrain, long flat structures tip unpredictably — use short, wide builds for stability
  • The shrine's later rooms add time pressure to construction — plan your build before engaging Ultrahand
  • Ascend through certain ceilings in this shrine to bypass sections and access the chest early

Faron Shrine Strategy by Area

Lake Hylia Subregion

Lake Hylia marks the northern boundary of Faron and is the most accessible entry point from Hyrule Field. Jonsau Shrine sits near the lake shore. Farosh the electric dragon spawns here at dawn — activate the Lake Hylia waypoint and schedule shrine runs around the dragon's arrival for efficient multi-tasking.

Access route: Hyrule Field Skyview Tower or Popla Foothills Skyview Tower launch — glide south to lake shore.

Lurelin Village Subregion

The southwest Faron coast around Lurelin Village clusters several shrines: Jote, Gotosu, and the Lurelin-associated quest shrine. Lurelin Village itself has an associated restoration side adventure. Completing the village restoration unlocks Lurelin-specific quest content and a coastal fast-travel point.

Access route: Fast travel to any Lurelin-adjacent shrine once one is activated, then sweep the coastal cluster on foot.

Dracozu River Corridor

The Dracozu River runs through central Faron and is the primary natural highway through the jungle. Jiukoum, Isenrouda, Satasata, and Yomizuk cluster along or above the river corridor. Farosh follows this corridor at dawn — shrine hunt here in the early morning for Farosh materials simultaneously.

Access route: Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower launch → glide west over the Dracozu corridor.

Deep Jungle / Plateau Shrines

Oshozan-u, Morasudar, Dakayas, Tokiy, and Larutam are scattered across the jungle interior and elevated plateau areas. These require more deliberate navigation — use ridgeline climbing combined with Paraglider gliding to locate them from above the canopy.

Access route: Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower for altitude, then descend methodically from east to west.

Spring of Courage / Naydra Area

The Spring of Courage in northeast Faron (Faron/Lanayru border) hosts the Naydra dragon quest. This is Faron's most involved shrine unlock. Save it for after accumulating paraglider and stamina upgrades. Makurukara's Lynel is in the general Faron interior — approach only when combat-ready.

Access route: Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower launch → glide southwest to the Spring of Courage.

Faron and Farosh Dragon Farming

Farosh the electric dragon is one of Faron's defining features. The dragon follows a consistent daily route:

  • 05:00 game time: Spawns at Spring of Courage (northeast Faron)
  • Travels west along the Dracozu River toward Lake Hylia
  • 06:00–08:00: Over Lake Hylia and the Faron grasslands

Farosh's materials (Scale, Claw, Fang Shard, Horn) are used in powerful armor upgrades and elixirs. Farm one material per day by landing on the dragon or shooting the corresponding body part with an arrow.

Integration strategy: Do your Dracozu River shrine circuit (Jiukoum, Isenrouda, Satasata, Yomizuk) while waiting for Farosh at dawn, then intercept the dragon as it passes overhead. Activate a shrine near the river before farming so you have a respawn point if you fall.
