Necluda Depths Guide — Lightroots, Poes & Kakariko Tunnels
Necluda Depths Guide
The Necluda Depths lies beneath the Necluda region — encompassing the underground zones below Kakariko Village, Hateno Village, and the Necluda Sea coast. It's one of the most accessible Depths regions for new players: no elemental hazards, lower enemy density than other regions, and entry points close to early-game chasms. A great first Depths zone for players beginning underground exploration.
Why Start in Necluda Depths?
| Advantage | Detail | |-----------|--------| | No elemental hazards | No fire, ice, or electric zones | | Shallow Gloom | Lower ambient Gloom than Central or Eldin Depths | | Easy entry | Kakariko Chasm is one of the earliest accessible chasms | | Low enemy tier | Bokoblin Skeletons (weakest variant) dominate | | High Poe density | Good early Poe farming for Bargainer Statue currency |
Entry Points
| Chasm | Surface Location | Recommended For | |-------|-----------------|----------------| | Kakariko Village Chasm | Inside Kakariko Village | Primary entry — earliest access | | Necluda Sea Chasm | Near Lurelin Village coast | Eastern access | | Hateno Highlands Chasm | East Necluda highlands | Southern access | | Mount Lanayru Foothills Chasm | West Lanayru foothills | Connects to Lanayru Depths |
Lightroots
Necluda Depths has 7 lightroots creating a well-connected network:
| Lightroot | Notes | |-----------|-------| | Kakariko Mirror Lightroot | Near entry — first Necluda lightroot | | Hateno Mirror Lightroot | Mirrors Hateno Village | | Necluda Wetlands Lightroot | Central zone | | Faron Border Lightroot | South, near Faron Depths boundary | | Lurelin Mirror Lightroot | Coastal east Necluda | | East Necluda Lightroot | High ground eastern section | | Deya Village Mirror Lightroot | Northwest Necluda |
The Kakariko and Hateno lightroots are the easiest to reach and should be activated first to establish fast-travel anchors for further exploration.
Poe Locations
Necluda Depths has the highest Poe density of the non-Central Depths regions. Key Poe clusters:
- Abandoned camp ruins near Kakariko mirror — 3–5 Small Poes per camp
- Corridor between Kakariko and Hateno lightroots — 6–8 Small Poes along the path
- Necluda Wetlands center — Medium Poes (×3, worth 15 total) near the water feature
- Large ruins complex (northwest) — Large Poe (×1, worth 20) inside main structure
Per-run Poe yield: 60–90 Poes (approximately 120–180 in trade value at Bargainer Statues).
Mining Outposts
Necluda Depths has two small mining outposts:
-
Kakariko Depths Outpost (near Kakariko mirror lightroot)
- 8–12 Zonaite per run
- 1 chest (usually Crystallized Charge ×3)
- Construct Workers × 2–3
-
Central Necluda Outpost (near Wetlands lightroot)
- 10–15 Zonaite per run
- Construct Captain guard (Large Zonai Charge drop)
Total per-run Zonaite: 18–27 (lower than Akkala/Eldin but perfectly fine for early-game battery building).
Skeleton Enemies
Necluda Depths' main enemy type is Bokoblin Skeletons — reanimated Bokoblin bones that patrol in groups. Key notes:
- Physical weapons deal 0 damage to skeletons — use fire, ice, or shock arrows
- Their bones can be detonated by bomb arrows for area damage
- They drop Bokoblin Bones (useful early fuse material) on defeat
- Groups of 4–6 are common — a single fire bomb clears entire groups
Best tactic: Light a campfire (or use a Fire Fruit fused arrow) and toss into the group. One fire spread defeats all nearby skeletons simultaneously.
Tips
- Necluda Depths is the best intro Depths zone — spend your first Depths session here before attempting Eldin or Gerudo Depths
- Use the Kakariko Chasm for fast entry — it's literally inside Kakariko Village (you've walked past it dozens of times)
- Depths Armor from Bargainer Statues — trade your Poe haul from early Necluda runs at the Kakariko Bargainer Statue. The Depths Chest piece (50 Poes) is obtainable after just 2–3 Necluda runs
- Lightroots unlock surface map — Necluda surface has many unnamed locations; activating Necluda Depths lightroots fills in the surface map labels for the corresponding zones
- No need for specialized gear — unlike Eldin or Gerudo Depths, the Necluda Depths requires no elemental protection. Your basic gear works fine.
