Side Adventures Guide — All 58 Extended Quest Chains
Side Adventures Guide — All 58 Extended Quest Chains
Side Adventures are TotK's extended quest chains — longer than standard side quests, usually crossing multiple regions, and always culminating in meaningful rewards. There are 58 total. This guide covers the most important ones, how to start them, and what rewards they provide.
What Are Side Adventures
Side Adventures differ from standard Side Quests:
- Multiple quest steps (typically 3-12+ steps)
- Cross multiple locations or NPCs
- Have unique, non-purchasable rewards
- Tell extended stories about Hyrule's current state
- Tracked separately in the adventure log under "Side Adventures"

Adventure Chains to Do Early
High value, time-sensitive reasons to start early:
- Stable Trotters — start at first stable visit. Every day without Great Fairies is a day you can't upgrade armor.
- Robbie's Research (Sensor+) — start at Hateno. Sensor+ transforms the entire game once unlocked.
- Impa's Geoglyphs — start at Kakariko. The Master Sword is the endgame payoff and collecting memories during normal exploration is efficient.
- A Home for All (Tarrey Town) — start early for service access. Tarrey Town shops unlock over multiple game hours.
Quick Tips
- Adventure log discipline — check the Side Adventures tab regularly. Completed steps surface the next step's location, but only if you re-read the log.
- Addison signs are worth doing — they're scattered everywhere. Help each Addison you pass for free rupees and materials. Don't ignore them.
- Stable Trotters is gated by stable access — you need to VISIT each stable to unlock the associated Great Fairy. Plan stable visits deliberately.
- Koltin requires Bubbulfrogs — start the Koltin chain early and collect Bubbulfrogs during normal cave exploration. You can't rush-collect 147 frogs at the end efficiently.
- Hudson Publishing is easy rupees — once Tarrey Town is built, Hudson Publishing delivers rupees for low effort. One of the better passive income chains.
