Ihsogi Lightroot (anagram of Igoshi Shrine) stands amid the most extensive pre-Calamity Goron excavation site in the Depths — a complex of rusted mine cart tracks, collapsed ore chutes, and support-column structures inscribed with Goron numerals recording centuries of ore extraction yields. The excavation predates the Calamity by at least 400 years based on oxidation patterns of the Goron-forged iron hardware. Column inscriptions are legible and show monotonically increasing ore tallies until a final entry with a different symbol — Goron historians interpret it as "sealed for safety" rather than "depleted." Zonaite deposits cluster around the sealed lower entry point, suggesting the Goron stopped excavating directly into a Zonaite concentration they found dangerous or sacred. The mine cart tracks are functional: a surviving cart can be reactivated and ridden 300 meters north through the excavation network, bypassing a Horriblin camp (8 mixed types) that controls the walking path. The southern approach from the lightroot base passes the largest Zonaite vein visible without entering the sealed zone — 15-20 Zonaite chunks per visit.
