Reach the Lanayru Promenade
The Lanayru Promenade is the ancient stone walkway near the East Reservoir Lake in the Lanayru region, northeast of Zora's Domain. After the sludge crisis is resolved, the promenade is partially flooded with deep water blocking the path to the shrine. You will need Sidon as a companion (acquired after completing the Water Temple) for his water-bubble shield ability, which acts similarly to Cryonis from BotW.

Use Sidon's Ability to Cross the Water
Activate Sidon's companion ability (press the ability button) to surround Link in a water bubble. Run across the surface of the flooded promenade sections — the water bubble provides surface tension that lets Link skim across deep water briefly. For longer crossings, look for submerged stone pillars just beneath the surface; you can jump between them while refreshing Sidon's bubble.

Find the Hidden Shrine Entrance
The Joniu Shrine entrance is behind a waterfall on the promenade's eastern end — the water conceals a narrow passage through the cliff face. Swim or walk behind the waterfall (Sidon's bubble prevents drowning) to find the passage. Inside is a short tunnel leading to the dormant shrine, still sealed with its ancient lock.

Activate the Joniu Shrine
Approach the shrine seal and interact with it to open the Joniu Shrine. The interior puzzle involves water-flow redirection — use Ultrahand to reposition stone slabs that channel water streams, directing the flow to power a wheel mechanism that opens the final gate. Complete the puzzle for a Light of Blessing.
