Quest Overview
A Hylian mining crew working the Depths ore fields has been cut off from their surface access shaft after a Gloom surge collapsed the tunnel exit. Find the stranded crew at their dig site deep in the Eldin Depths, help them repair the collapsed shaft using Ultrahand and structural beams, and guide them safely back to the surface before their Brightbloom seed supply runs out.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough
1
Learn About the Stranded Crew
At a surface mining camp near Death Mountain, the foreman reports that five miners went into the Depths three days ago and have not returned. The access shaft they used showed signs of Gloom collapse from a tremor. He marks the dig site coordinates on your Purah Pad and asks Link to investigate. Bring Brightbloom Seeds and Gloom-resistant food.
2
Navigate to the Depths Dig Site
Descend into the Eldin Depths via the nearest chasm and navigate toward the dig site coordinates. The route passes through a Gloom-heavy corridor — activate Lightroots along the way to reduce Gloom density. The dig site is illuminated by the crew's last Brightbloom Seeds, giving it a soft blue glow visible from a distance.
3
Assess the Collapsed Shaft
The five miners are alive but trapped. Their access shaft — a vertical tunnel reinforced with wooden beams — has caved in 15 meters up. Heavy rubble blocks the exit. The crew needs Link to use Ultrahand to clear rubble blocks and reposition intact structural beams to shore up the shaft walls during the climb.
4
Clear the Shaft and Escort Miners Out
Use Ultrahand to move rubble pieces and position beams as supports inside the shaft. The miners climb when each section is clear. Work upward through four blocked sections. At the top, the final exit is sealed by one large rock slab — position it to the side to open the path. Once all five miners emerge at the surface, the quest completes.
5
Receive the Reward
The grateful foreman rewards Link with rare ore materials the crew mined before the cave-in (Luminous Stone, Amber, Opal), a stock of Zonai Charges recovered from the dig site, and a substantial Rupee payment. The crew marks the stabilized shaft on your Purah Pad for future fast access to that Depths sector.
