Step-by-Step Walkthrough

1

Accept the Search Mission from Goron City

In Goron City, an anxious Goron named Fugo explains that a mining crew of five Gorons entered the Depths through a chasm near Death Mountain three days ago and has not returned. He marks the chasm location on your map and asks Link to descend and find them. Bring Brightbloom Seeds, Sundelion meals to recover Gloom-drained hearts, and your strongest weapons — the area is Frox territory.

2

Descend and Follow the Abandoned Equipment Trail

Drop through the chasm into the Depths beneath the Eldin region. The miners left a trail of abandoned gear: dropped pickaxes, ore carts overturned on the tracks, and discarded food supplies that mark their path deeper into the mine system. Follow the trail southeast through the dark tunnels, using Brightbloom Seeds to light the path and avoid Gloom patches that drain max hearts.

3

Locate and Rescue the Surviving Miners

Find the survivors cornered in a side cavern, blocked from escape by two Frox — giant underground creatures that absorb Gloom and spit it at targets. The Frox weakspot is its glowing underbelly: throw a Brightbloom Seed or shine any light at it to expose the belly, then launch heavy weapons at the exposed spot. Two direct hits per Frox is sufficient. Once both Frox are defeated, the miners can move freely.

4

Escort the Miners Back to the Surface

Guide the miners back through the Depths tunnel, following the abandoned equipment trail in reverse. A new group of Gloom-Hands may have spawned along the route — outrun them rather than fighting, as the miners cannot help in combat. Once everyone reaches the chasm, the Gorons ascend and Fugo meets you at the surface to reward Link with a Gold Rupee and ten units of Goron Spice, the most flavorful cooking ingredient available.

Pro Tips

1

Side quests often unlock unique rewards not available elsewhere. Always check the reward before skipping one.

2

Pin the quest on your map to track the objective marker while exploring.

3

Cook Hearty meals to gain temporary bonus hearts. Hearty Durians are the most efficient.

4

Consider equipping the Fierce Deity Set or Barbarian Armor for maximum attack power before the hardest encounters.

5

Throw Brightbloom Seeds ahead of you to light the path. Attach them to arrows for long-range illumination.

6

Use your Purah Pad Sensor+ to track quest-related items and materials as you explore.
