Maren's Tip

Remember — if a shrine gives Rauru's Blessing with no puzzle inside, the real challenge was reaching the entrance. Check the surrounding area!

Walkthrough

1. Step 1: Enter Daqa Shrine in the Necluda region and survey the main chamber.
2. A prominently locked door blocks the room ahead, which visibly contains both the altar and a treasure chest.
3. There is no key anywhere in the shrine — searching for one is a deliberate misdirection by the designers.
4. The real solution requires looking at the architecture itself.
5. Step 2: Walk past the locked door and descend into the pit area just south of the locked room.
6. This pit appears to be a dead end, but look up at the ceiling.
7. The floor of the locked room above you is made of thinner stone than the surrounding structure — identifiable by its noticeably lighter color and slightly rough texture compared to the solid dark stone around it.
8. Step 3: Stand directly beneath the thin stone section and activate Ascend.
9. Link phases upward through the floor and emerges inside the locked room that appeared completely inaccessible from the corridor.
10. The locked door was never meant to be opened — Ascend bypasses it entirely.
11. Step 4: Once inside the sealed chamber, open the chest on the pedestal.
12. It contains a Soldier's Broadsword (attack power 14, a solid early-game weapon that accepts Fuse materials well due to its balanced stats).
13. Step 5: Walk to the altar inside the locked room and claim your Light of Blessing.
14. The locked door can now be opened from inside if you wish to exit the normal way.
15. Hidden chest: The Soldier's Broadsword chest inside the locked room is the shrine's only chest.
16. Since you Ascend directly into the room, the chest is impossible to miss.
17. Ability needed: Ascend is the only ability required.
18. This shrine specifically teaches players that Ascend bypasses locked doors and sealed rooms wherever thin floors or ceilings exist — a lesson that applies to dozens of overworld locations, dungeons, and other shrines throughout the game.
19. Pro tip: Train your eye to spot thin ceiling sections throughout TotK.
20. They always have a lighter color and slightly different texture compared to solid stone.
21. Every cave, ruin, and building in the game can potentially be entered from below using Ascend if the ceiling is thin enough — making this ability the single most powerful exploration tool in the game.
