Maren's Tip
Remember — if a shrine gives Rauru's Blessing with no puzzle inside, the real challenge was reaching the entrance. Check the surrounding area!
Walkthrough
- Step 1: Enter Sepapa Shrine in Central Hyrule and observe the layout — this shrine is built around a series of one-way doors that funnel you along a long, winding intended path.
- Every door in the shrine opens inward only and cannot be pushed back from the other side, creating a one-directional maze.
- The intended path takes approximately 4 minutes of walking through corridors, but the real solution is much faster.
- Step 2: Walk through the first one-way door into the second corridor.
- Stop and look up — the ceiling in this corridor has a distinctly lighter section of stone (the telltale visual cue for Ascend-compatible surfaces).
- Stand beneath the thin ceiling section and activate Ascend.
- Link phases upward through the corridor ceiling and emerges in a hidden passage above the one-way door system entirely.
- Step 3: Follow the hidden upper passage — it runs backward relative to the intended maze path, leading to a locked supply room that the one-way maze was designed to bypass.
- The room contains a chest on a pedestal holding a Strong Construct Bow (28 attack power, fires straight with minimal arrow drop — one of the best bows available in Central Hyrule shrines).
- Collect it.
- Step 4: Exit the supply room and look for a second thin ceiling section in the upper passage near the altar corridor.
- Use Ascend again to phase through this ceiling directly into the altar room, emerging right beside the altar itself.
- This completely bypasses the remaining 80 percent of the one-way maze.
- Step 5: Claim your Light of Blessing at the altar.
- Hidden chest: The Strong Construct Bow in the locked supply room is only accessible via the Ascend shortcut through the upper passage.
- Players who walk the intended one-way maze path will never reach this room — the one-way doors prevent backtracking to it.
- Ability needed: Ascend is the only ability required, used twice.
- This shrine teaches that Ascend does not just go up — it goes through obstacles, bypassing locked doors, one-way systems, and seemingly impassable architecture.
- Pro tip: This shrine's design philosophy applies everywhere in TotK.
- Whenever you encounter a one-way door, locked gate, or seemingly forced path, look up.
- If there is a thin ceiling anywhere nearby, Ascend can bypass the entire system.
- Many overworld dungeons and cave networks have similar shortcuts hidden above the intended route.
