Popla Foothills Skyview Tower

Faron

Located in the Popla Foothills of the northern Faron region, southeast of Central Hyrule. Map region unlocked: Southern Hyrule Field, northern Faron, and the Faron Grasslands transition zone. A simple wooden stake removal is the only barrier to activation. The foothills are rich with wildlife — Blupees (glowing Luck Spirits) spawn here at night and drop 3–20 rupees each when shot before they flee. The area bridges the temperate Hyrule Field climate and the warmer Faron rainforest biome, and several rare mushroom varieties (Razorshroom, Brightcap) grow on the shaded north-facing slopes. The Popla Foothills sit directly on Farosh's afternoon return flight path, making the tower a highly efficient intercept point for the electric dragon. Dueling Peaks Stable sits to the east, providing excellent resupply access. A large cave network with multiple Ore Deposit nodes is accessible through a waterfall entrance on the western cliff face — the cave also contains a Bubbulfrog. The tower height provides exceptional Korok seed scouting coverage for the densely-seeded surrounding grassland (9 nearby seeds, the second-highest density of any tower area).

Activation Puzzle Walkthrough

1

The Obstacle

The tower door is jammed shut by a large wooden stake wedged firmly into the door mechanism on the right side of the entrance, preventing the door from swinging open. The stake is lodged at an angle into the gear mechanism.

2

The Solution

Use Ultrahand to grab the wooden stake from the side at an angle that matches its position in the mechanism. Pull it straight outward from the gear mechanism — the stake slides free with one clean Ultrahand pull, and the door springs open immediately. Walk inside and activate the terminal. No combat, special items, or elevated approach is required. The stake removal is designed to familiarize players with Ultrahand on door mechanisms before the more complex tower puzzles later. Map region unlocked: Southern Hyrule Field and the northern Faron region, including the Popla Foothills, Faron Grasslands, and early approaches to the Faron rainforest.

Tips

The wooden stake is visible on the right side of the door mechanism — grab it with Ultrahand and pull straight outward. The removal takes about 2 seconds with no angle adjustment.

Dueling Peaks Stable to the east is one of the best-stocked stables in Hyrule Field — resupply arrows, buy meals, and register a horse for the Faron region before proceeding south.

Farosh (electric dragon) crosses this area in the afternoon (14:00–17:00 in-game) heading northwest. Launch from this tower during that time window for an easy electric dragon intercept without biome travel.

At night, look for glowing blue Blupees on the hillside below the tower. Shoot them before they flee into a rock or tree — they drop 3–20 rupees each and respawn every blood moon.

The waterfall cave on the western cliff (follow the sound of water and look for the mist) contains Ore Deposits, Brightcap mushrooms, and a Bubbulfrog for the hunting questline.

After launching from the tower, glide south to survey the transition into the Faron rainforest and spot the Rabella Wetlands tower to the southeast.

Rare Razorshroom and Brightcap mushroom clusters grow on the shaded north-facing hill faces — important cooking ingredients for attack-boost and illumination meals.

The tower simultaneously reveals the southern Hyrule Field map and the northern Faron region — one of the most coverage-efficient activations in the game.
