All Eldin Shrines Guide — Tears of the Kingdom
The Eldin region encompasses Death Mountain, Goron City, the Eldin Canyon, and the volcanic slopes extending north toward the Akkala border. It contains 18 shrines across lava fields, mine cart rail systems, sky islands, and the mountain's fire-blasted summit. Every Eldin shrine outside Goron City requires Flamebreaker Armor or a Fireproof Elixir to reach comfortably — the ambient volcanic heat deals continuous fire damage without fire resistance.
Eldin is the game's fire region: lava flows actively block paths, fire jets erupt on timers, and lava crossing puzzles appear in multiple shrines. The mine cart rail system under Death Mountain connects several shrine locations underground and is worth mastering early.
Preparation Before Eldin Shrines
Mandatory fire resistance: Buy Flamebreaker Armor from Eldin's vendor in Goron City before exploring beyond the canyon road. The full three-piece set costs approximately 1,500 rupees and provides full fire immunity. Individual pieces provide partial resistance — one piece plus a Fireproof Elixir works as a budget alternative.
Fireproof Elixirs: Craft using Smotherwing Butterfly + any Monster Part. The butterflies are found on the Death Mountain slopes. Elixirs last ~8 minutes each — bring at least 5 for a shrine-hunting session if not wearing the full Flamebreaker set.
Mine cart mastery: Several Eldin shrines revolve around the mine cart rail systems — Marakuguc, Magda, and others. Practice positioning mine carts with Ultrahand and launching them along rails before entering these shrines.
Bring:
- 30+ arrows (aerial targets, Construct combat trials)
- Bomb Flowers (clearing ore veins blocking entrances, and combat in Goma Asagh)
- High-durability weapons (Goma Asagh hard combat trial demands good gear)
- Cold-resist food (Death Mountain summit at night drops to freezing — rare but possible)
- Brightbloom Seeds (Jinodok sky shrine and some cave-adjacent paths)
Fast travel anchor: Activate the Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower immediately upon region entry. It covers the entire Eldin Canyon, lower Death Mountain, and launches into the sky islands above for Jinodok shrine.
Complete Eldin Shrine List
1. Magda Shrine — Mine Cart / Rail / Ultrahand
Location: Eldin region — mine cart rail system area Puzzle Type: Ultrahand / mine cart / rail traversal Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆
A mine cart shrine using Eldin's underground rail network. Link must position and drive mine carts along rails to bridge gaps, activate switches, and carry platforms to the altar.
Tips:
- Attach a Zonai Fan to the back of a mine cart to give it self-propulsion — prevents stalling on inclines
- Mine carts can carry Ultrahand-attached objects as cargo — stack the necessary puzzle objects on a cart before launching it
- The cart tracks have branching points in later rooms — use Ultrahand to switch track directions before the cart reaches the junction
2. Sitsum Shrine — Rauru's Blessing / Goron City
Location: Near Goron City — surface blessing shrine, no puzzle required Puzzle Type: Rauru's Blessing (no puzzle) Difficulty: ★☆☆☆☆
A quick blessing shrine accessible near Goron City. No puzzle inside — the outdoor exploration or associated quest was the trial. Walk in, collect the Light of Blessing.
Tips:
- Sitsum is near Goron City — grab this alongside Flamebreaker Armor purchase and Goron City NPC quests for maximum efficiency
- The chest inside contains a useful early-region item — the shrine is worth the 2-minute stop
3. Polorus Shrine — Ultrahand Puzzle (Medium)
Location: Eldin region — volcanic terrain Puzzle Type: Ultrahand / construction puzzle Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆
A mid-difficulty Ultrahand construction shrine on the volcanic slopes of Eldin. Multiple objects must be combined to create bridges, ramps, and platforms across lava-adjacent gaps.
Tips:
- On volcanic terrain, falling into lava below shrine gaps deals significant damage — build cautiously and test weight distribution before stepping on new platforms
- Long spanning structures work better here than multiple short hops — fewer connection points means fewer failure modes
- The shrine chest is in an alcove above the main path — use a tall Ultrahand stack to reach the alcove ledge
4. Rasitakiwak Shrine — Fire / Heat / Ice / Ultrahand / Pressure Plates
Location: Eldin surface — fire and ice elemental interaction terrain Puzzle Type: Ultrahand / elemental (fire + ice) / pressure plates / torch Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆
A multi-element shrine combining fire, heat, and ice mechanics with pressure plate switches. Link uses torches and ice objects to interact with fire-sensitive and cold-sensitive mechanisms across multiple rooms.
Tips:
- Ice objects melt faster in Eldin's volcanic heat than elsewhere — work quickly after placing ice near heat sources
- Lighting a torch with the Eldin environment (lava splatter or Bomb Flower) then carrying it with Ultrahand allows precise flame delivery to target switches
- The pressure plate sequence must be activated in a specific order — read the wall symbols in the first room before touching any switch
- Room 3 combines all mechanics: use a fire torch to open a door, then immediately ice-cool the adjacent switch before the door closes
5. Marakuguc Shrine — Mine Cart / Track / Rail System
Location: Eldin Canyon / upper Eldin slopes — mine cart rail area Puzzle Type: Ultrahand / mine cart / rail traversal Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆
One of Eldin's two dedicated mine cart shrines. Introduces the mine cart rail system with basic cart-driving mechanics — build a functioning cart, attach propulsion, and navigate to the altar.
Tips:
- Ascend through the ceiling of the first room is a valid shortcut — the room's ceiling leads directly to a platform above the cart section
- A Fan attached perpendicular to the cart (pushing from the side) steers the cart left/right on horizontal track sections
- Steering is the hardest mechanic here — practice the fan angle adjustments before the final rail section where precision matters
6. Morok Shrine — Fire / Bomb / Explosion Mechanics
Location: Eldin region — near lava or fire hazard terrain Puzzle Type: Ultrahand / fire / bomb / explosion Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆
A fire and explosion shrine using Bomb Flowers and the environment's volcanic properties as puzzle tools. Link must trigger explosions at precise locations to destroy barriers, activate switches, and open sealed doors.
Tips:
- Bomb Flowers can be carried with Ultrahand and placed before detonation — position them against target walls for maximum structural damage
- The chain reaction mechanic: one explosion can trigger adjacent Bomb Flowers — set up a chain for multi-barrier destruction in one detonation
- Time your explosion for when all target switches are accessible — the blast radius activates multiple switches simultaneously if you position the Bomb Flower at the intersection
7. Goma Asagh Shrine — Hard Combat Trial / Construct
Location: Eldin region — volcanic terrain Puzzle Type: Combat (hard Construct trial) Difficulty: ★★★★☆
Eldin's hardest combat shrine — a proving grounds against high-tier Constructs with no weapon replenishment between waves. Demanding combat mechanics test every combat skill: flurry rush, perfect guard, and environmental awareness.
Tips:
- Bring strong weapons before entering — the shrine does not provide weapons; your loadout carries in. Minimum 40+ attack weapon, 25+ arrows
- The combat arena has Bomb Flowers on the walls — use them against Constructs by triggering proximity explosions mid-fight
- Flurry Rush is the primary DPS cycle: dodge sideways on the Construct's charge, chain 6-8 hits in the rush window, repeat
- The final Construct wave has a barrier shield — Bomb Arrows penetrate the barrier; standard arrows do not
8. Disisan Shrine — Lava / Mining / Goron Environment
Location: Eldin region — near lava flows or Goron mining area Puzzle Type: Ultrahand / lava crossing / mining / Goron environment Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆
A shrine themed around Goron mining culture and Eldin's lava environment. Link crosses lava using mining equipment — ore carts, platforms, and drilling devices — as Ultrahand tools.
Tips:
- The ore cart can float briefly on lava surfaces before sinking — mount and jump immediately rather than riding to the far bank
- Mining equipment in this shrine includes drill-shaped Zonai devices that can bore through soft ore walls — use them to open shortcuts
- The chest is behind an ore wall in the first chamber — drill through it before proceeding to the main puzzle
9. Timawak Shrine — Lava Crossing / Heat Platform / Ultrahand
Location: Eldin region — active lava flow area Puzzle Type: Ultrahand / lava crossing / heat platforms / elemental Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆
A shrine requiring Link to build and navigate lava-crossing platforms using Ultrahand. The heat from nearby lava affects object durability and physics — metal platforms conduct heat, organic materials can ignite.
Tips:
- Metal platforms are the safest lava-crossing material — they don't ignite and maintain structural integrity over lava
- Size your platform relative to the lava gap; wide platforms are more stable but slower to maneuver with Ultrahand
- Stand at the edge of your platform as you Ultrahand-push it — jump onto the platform at the last moment to avoid walking it while positioned over lava
10. Jinodok Shrine — Rauru's Blessing / Sky Island
Location: Sky Island above Eldin region — requires Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower launch Puzzle Type: Rauru's Blessing (sky island exploration trial) Difficulty: ★☆☆☆☆ (reaching it is the challenge)
A blessing shrine on a high-altitude sky island above Death Mountain. The trial was finding and navigating to the remote sky island. Inside: altar and chest only.
Tips:
- Launch from Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower and aim for the floating island cluster to the east-northeast
- The island platform has some combat (Constructs or environmental hazards) — bring a combat-ready loadout even though the shrine itself is a blessing
- Brightbloom Seeds illuminate the sky island platform for finding the shrine entrance if approaching at night
- Activating Jinodok provides a high-altitude Eldin fast-travel point useful for aerial approaches to upper Death Mountain shrines
11. Igo Shrine — Block / Ultrahand / Easy Puzzle
Location: Eldin region — accessible early, near main path Puzzle Type: Ultrahand / block puzzle (easy) Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆
One of Eldin's more approachable shrines — a beginner-to-intermediate Ultrahand block puzzle. Single-piece and multi-piece block manipulation creates bridges and platforms across gaps in a simple progression.
Tips:
- The minimal solution is always preferred in easy-tier shrines — don't over-engineer the bridge
- Check behind the starting room's blocks for the hidden chest before completing the first gap crossing
- Ascend through certain block arrangements as a shortcut — test surfaces before committing to the full build
12. Natabui Shrine — Stalnox / Undead Combat
Location: Eldin region — volcanic terrain, may require night activation Puzzle Type: Combat (Stalnox boss — undead enemy) Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆
A combat shrine featuring a Stalnox — an undead skeleton boss that requires eye-targeting to defeat. The Stalnox is more durable than standard enemies but has predictable attack patterns.
Tips:
- Target the Stalnox's eye (in the socket) with arrows — headshots deal massive damage and stagger the boss
- When the Stalnox kneels after taking eye damage, its eye drops to the ground — attack the eye directly on the ground for the highest DPS window in the fight
- The Stalnox uses a bone club for sweeping attacks — roll sideways (not backward) to dodge the swing arc
- Bomb Flowers thrown at the Stalnox body stagger it and briefly knock the eye out of the socket — useful as a DPS opener
13. Vurakosh Shrine — Fire / Lava / Heat Platform Puzzle
Location: Eldin region — lava-heavy volcanic terrain Puzzle Type: Ultrahand / fire / lava / heat platforms / elemental traversal Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆
A lava-traverse shrine requiring sequential platform management across multiple lava channels. Each room increases the number of lava sections and reduces available platform materials.
Tips:
- Reuse the same platform by Ultrahand-pulling it behind you after crossing each lava channel — you only need one platform if you're methodical
- The shrine's final lava channel is wider than all previous ones — a single platform is insufficient; combine two platforms end-to-end
- Don't fall into lava here — the shrine's lava channels are deep and deal maximum fire damage even with Flamebreaker equipped
14. Kimayat Shrine — Multi-Wave Combat Trial / Proving Grounds of Will
Location: Eldin region — proving grounds combat area Puzzle Type: Combat (multi-wave Construct proving grounds) Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆
A multi-wave Construct combat proving grounds shrine. Wave 1 through 3 escalate in Construct tier — each wave must be fully defeated before the next spawns.
Tips:
- Conserve weapon durability on the early waves — use the provided shrine-interior weapons if available, saving your personal weapons for the final wave
- The wave 2 Constructs use coordinated attacks — split them apart by staying mobile rather than tanking in the arena center
- Wave 3's Construct has a shield barrier — circle sideways to flank the barrier rather than attacking into it
15. Musanokir Shrine — Hard Multi-Room / Ascend / Ultrahand / Maze
Location: Eldin region — complex terrain requiring significant climbing Puzzle Type: Ultrahand / Ascend / multi-room / rotating platform / maze bypass Difficulty: ★★★★☆
Eldin's most complex puzzle shrine — three rooms each requiring a different ability combination, with the final room demanding all mechanics from the preceding rooms simultaneously. The rotating platform room is the most disorienting puzzle in the Eldin set.
Tips:
- The rotating platform room: use Ascend through the platform's floor to exit through the top rather than riding the rotation — this bypasses the disorientation entirely
- Room 2's maze has a vertical bypass via Ascend through an overhead ledge — locate it immediately to skip the horizontal maze entirely
- The hidden chest is only accessible from a specific Ascend angle in room 1 — explore all ceiling surfaces before progressing
- In room 3, build a tall Ultrahand stack first, then Ascend through the top — height is the key to all room 3 solutions
16. Tadarok Shrine — Fire / Water / Raft / Fire Jet / Elemental
Location: Eldin surface — fire and water elemental interaction area Puzzle Type: Ultrahand / fire / water / raft / fire jet / elemental Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆
A fire-and-water combination shrine where both elements interact directly. Water rafts must navigate past fire jets, and fire must be applied to water-cooled mechanisms to restore them to active state.
Tips:
- The raft takes fire damage if the fire jet directly hits it — time your crossing during the jet's off-cycle (watch the timing before mounting the raft)
- Recall on the raft rewinds it through a fire jet it already passed — useful for accessing the section behind the jet without re-timing it
- The water-cooled mechanism can be reactivated with a lit torch carried via Ultrahand — approach from the non-fire side and apply flame before the mechanism cools again
17. Daqa Shrine — Bokoblin / Lava / Environmental Hazard Combat
Location: Eldin region — lava-adjacent combat area Puzzle Type: Combat (Bokoblin group + lava environmental hazard) Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆
A combat shrine where Bokoblin enemies fight in a lava-adjacent arena. The environment is the secondary challenge — lava flows at the arena edges deal instant death if Link falls in, and Bokoblins are positioned to knock Link off-balance.
Tips:
- Stay in the arena center — Bokoblins will try to push or knock Link toward the lava edges
- Ranged attacks from the center let you eliminate Bokoblins before they can execute flanking rushes
- Black Bokoblins in later waves have high health — fuse a Molduga Jaw or Lynel Horn for one-shot capacity
- Use bomb arrows to knock Bokoblins off the arena platforms into lava — environmental kills are as valid as direct kills
18. Kihshe Shrine — Rauru's Blessing / Lava Area
Location: Eldin region — lava-adjacent area, Rauru's Blessing Puzzle Type: Rauru's Blessing (no puzzle) Difficulty: ★☆☆☆☆
A blessing shrine in the Eldin lava terrain. The outdoor navigation (reaching the shrine through lava fields) was the trial. No puzzle inside — walk to the altar.
Tips:
- The lava approach to Kihshe requires Flamebreaker Armor — do not attempt without fire resistance
- The shrine is a quick stop during a Death Mountain summit push — grab it as part of an upper-mountain sweep
- The chest inside may contain a fire-attribute weapon material — useful for fusing before tackling the Fire Temple
Difficulty Breakdown

Eldin Shrine Strategy by Area
Eldin Canyon (Entry Zone)
The Eldin Canyon road from Hyrule Field is the primary entry route. Rasitakiwak, Morok, and Igo are accessible along or near the canyon road before reaching Goron City. These are the best first shrines — no special fire resistance required for the canyon approach, and they establish fast-travel points.
Access route: Hyrule Field east → Eldin Canyon road → follow the main path north.
Goron City Cluster
Sitsum, Marakuguc, and the lower Death Mountain shrines cluster around Goron City. Buy Flamebreaker Armor here before pushing up the mountain. Goron City also has the Yunobo quest (required for Fire Temple) — combine shrine hunting with Fire Temple preparation.
Access route: Follow the canyon road to Goron City, then radiate outward to nearby shrines.
Death Mountain Mid-Slopes
Disisan, Timawak, Vurakosh, and Tadarok are positioned on Death Mountain's volcanic mid-slopes above Goron City. These require full Flamebreaker and combat readiness. Work in an ascending spiral — lower slopes first, gaining altitude progressively.
Access route: Goron City → follow the mountain trail upward; activate shrines in order of altitude (lowest to highest).
Death Mountain Upper Summit
Magda, Kimayat, Musanokir, and Goma Asagh are on the upper mountain and require significant climbing. Kihshe is in the lava-heavy summit area. Polorus and Natabui may be in interior or elevated areas. Plan a dedicated summit run with full fire resistance, strong weapons, and stamina food.
Access route: Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower launch → glide to Death Mountain summit → work downhill from peak.
Sky Islands (Jinodok)
Jinodok is on a sky island above Eldin — only reachable by sky island launch. Combine with sky island exploration for Zonaite resource farming.
Access route: Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower → aim northeast for the Eldin sky island cluster.
Eldin Mine Cart System
The mine cart rail network under Death Mountain connects multiple Eldin locations and is central to Magda and Marakuguc shrines. Key tips for the Eldin rail system:
- Propulsion: Attach a Zonai Fan to the cart's rear for self-driving. Fans on both sides allow steering.
- Branching tracks: Position the cart before junctions to pre-aim the direction.
- Cargo carrying: Stack objects on the cart before launching to transport puzzle items simultaneously.
- Ascend shortcut: Many mine cart shrine rooms have ceilings accessible via Ascend — use this before over-engineering cart solutions.
Eldin Rewards and Light of Blessing
All 18 Eldin shrines grant Light of Blessing upon completion. Exchange 4 Lights at the Goddess Statue in Goron City for:
- Heart Container — Strongly recommended for Eldin; lava hazards, Goma Asagh combat, and the Fire Temple all punish low health
- Stamina Vessel — Useful for Death Mountain climbing if Stamina is a constraint
Optimal exchange order: Prioritize Heart Containers until at 14 hearts before exchanging for Stamina. Death Mountain climbing becomes significantly easier at 5+ Stamina vessels, but the Fire Temple demands hearts first.
