Step-by-Step Walkthrough

1

Prerequisite: Complete the Dragon's Tears

Before you can obtain the Master Sword, you must complete all 12 Dragon's Tears memories (plus the secret 13th). The final memory reveals that Zelda transformed into the Light Dragon to carry the Master Sword through time. Without completing the tears, the Light Dragon flies too high to reach.

2

Locate the Light Dragon

The Light Dragon follows a set flight path circling high above Hyrule. It flies a large loop from the Great Plateau area north over Hyrule Field, east toward Akkala, south over Necluda, and back west. Open your map and look for the golden dragon icon. The dragon flies at a very high altitude — higher than most Skyview Towers can reach directly.

3

Reach the Light Dragon

The easiest method: Launch from the Lindor's Brow or Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower when the dragon is passing overhead, then glide to land on its back. Alternative method: Use sky island chains to climb higher, then glide down to the dragon. You need at least two full stamina wheels (or stamina-restoring food) to make the glide. If the dragon is too far, wait at a campfire and try again when it passes closer to a tower.

4

Pull the Master Sword

Land on the Light Dragon's head where the Master Sword is embedded. Interact with the sword to begin pulling it. This requires two full stamina wheels (40 stamina units total) to successfully extract. If you do not have enough stamina, cook Enduring or Energizing meals to temporarily boost your stamina beyond the normal maximum. Hold the interact button through the entire animation.

5

Claim Your Reward

The Master Sword is restored at 30 base attack power and has a unique property: it recharges instead of breaking permanently. When depleted, wait 10 minutes of real time for it to restore. The sword deals bonus damage against Gloom-affected enemies and Ganondorf. A cutscene shows the Light Dragon's connection to Zelda, adding emotional weight to the final battle ahead.
