Step-by-Step Walkthrough
1
Find and Approach the Giant Horse
The Giant Horse roams the Faron Grasslands near Mounted Archery Camp, southwest of Highland Stable. It is unmistakable — nearly twice the height of a normal horse, dark grey with an orange mane, and it moves in a slow patrol circuit. Approach downwind from the east and crouch before getting within detection range. Sprint and mount it from behind when it pauses to graze.
2
Tame the Giant Horse
The Giant Horse has an extremely long stamina bar to tame — you must soothe it repeatedly with button presses as it bucks. Bring stamina-restoring food or an Endura Elixir beforehand, as a single stamina wheel is insufficient. Each successful soothe calms it briefly before it bucks again. Use Stamina Vessel upgrades from the Goddess Statue if available. After five to seven soothe cycles, the horse fully submits and is registered to you.
3
Ride to the Ancient Stone Arch
The ancient stone arch is south-southeast of the Highland Stable, visible from the road as a weathered stone gate structure standing alone in a grassy clearing. Ride the Giant Horse directly under the arch at a walking pace. A rumbling sound confirms the horse is in the correct position. If nothing happens, nudge the horse slightly forward or backward — the trigger zone is small but forgiving with the horse's large size.
4
Access the Revealed Shrine
The ground beneath the arch splits open and the Jochi-ihiga Shrine rises from below. Dismount and enter. The shrine puzzle involves launching the Giant Horse in a simulation — complete the shrine's internal challenge for a Light of Blessing. The Giant Horse is now registered to the game and can be found at any stable, though it cannot be taken into smaller stable stalls and must be tied outside.
