Maren's Tip
Remember — if a shrine gives Rauru's Blessing with no puzzle inside, the real challenge was reaching the entrance. Check the surrounding area!
Walkthrough
- Step 1: Enter Zanmik Shrine in the Necluda region and observe the physics-based puzzle layout.
- A heavy steel ball sits at the bottom of a recessed pit in the center of the chamber.
- The target socket is on a raised platform across the room — too high to reach by simply carrying the ball with Ultrahand alone.
- A concave bowl-shaped platform hangs from a pivoting arm mechanism attached to the ceiling, providing the transport solution.
- Step 2: Use Ultrahand to grab the bowl platform and rotate it so the concave (curved inward) side faces downward into the pit.
- Lower the bowl over the steel ball carefully — the ball should settle into the bowl's cavity naturally when the bowl is positioned directly above it.
- The fit is precise: the ball sits snugly in the bowl's curve without rolling out when stationary.
- Step 3: Now lift the bowl (with the ball resting inside) slowly and steadily upward out of the pit.
- Critical: move the bowl at a moderate pace.
- Jerky movements or sudden direction changes cause the ball to roll out of the bowl's cavity due to the physics simulation.
- Smooth, deliberate Ultrahand movement is essential.
- Think of it as carrying a marble in a spoon.
- Step 4: Carry the bowl-and-ball assembly across the room toward the raised platform with the target socket.
- Hover the bowl directly above the socket opening and slowly tilt the bowl to one side — the ball rolls out of the cavity, drops, and clicks into the socket below.
- If the ball misses the socket, it rolls back to the pit and you must repeat the scoop process.
- Step 5: When the ball clicks into the socket, the altar gate opens with a mechanical chime.
- Before proceeding, check the alcove to the right of the socket platform.
- A chest containing a Topaz (worth 180 rupees, used for upgrading Rubber Armor at Great Fairy Fountains) sits against the wall.
- Step 6: Walk through the gate to the altar and claim your Light of Blessing.
- Hidden chest: The Topaz in the alcove right of the socket platform — easy to miss since the altar gate draws your attention left.
- Ability needed: Ultrahand is the only ability required.
- The core skill tested is precise, slow object manipulation under physics constraints — carrying objects without dropping them by controlling movement speed and angle.
- Pro tip: The scoop-and-carry technique from this shrine applies to several overworld puzzles involving orbs, balls, and spherical objects.
- Whenever you need to transport a round object over uneven terrain or across gaps, look for bowl-shaped or concave objects nearby — they serve as natural carriers that prevent the sphere from rolling away.
