Maren's Tip
Remember — if a shrine gives Rauru's Blessing with no puzzle inside, the real challenge was reaching the entrance. Check the surrounding area!
Walkthrough
- Step 1: Enter Gutoku Shrine in the Gerudo region and survey the main chamber.
- Three large sandstone blocks sit scattered across the room, and three pressure plates with glowing runes are embedded in the floor at specific positions — front-left, center-back, and far-right corner.
- All three plates must be activated simultaneously to open the altar gate.
- Step 2: Start with Block 1, the smallest block nearest the front-left pressure plate.
- Use Ultrahand to grab it and slide it directly forward onto the plate.
- This is a straight push with no obstacles — the plate glows bright gold when activated correctly.
- Step 3: Block 2 sits behind a low sandstone wall and needs to reach the center-back plate.
- Grab it with Ultrahand and rotate it 45 degrees so its narrower profile clears the wall edge.
- Lift it over the wall (raise Ultrahand to maximum height), then lower it gently onto the center-back plate.
- Dropping it from too high causes it to bounce off the plate — lower it within half a meter for a clean placement.
- Step 4: Block 3 is the trickiest — it is half-buried in a compacted sand mound near the right wall.
- Use Ultrahand with a firm upward pull to extract it from the sand.
- The block resists for about 2 seconds before popping free.
- Carry it across the room to the far-right corner plate and set it down carefully.
- Step 5: With all three plates glowing gold, the altar gate slides open.
- Before claiming the Light of Blessing, look up — a chest sits on an upper ledge directly above the altar gate.
- Stand on Block 3 (the tallest) and activate Ascend to phase through the ceiling into the upper alcove.
- The chest contains a Gerudo Scimitar (24 attack power), an excellent curved blade for desert combat.
- Step 6: Drop back down and walk to the altar to claim your reward.
- Abilities needed: Ultrahand (block manipulation) and Ascend (chest access).
- Pro tip: If Block 3 keeps slipping back into its sand mound when you release Ultrahand, try pulling it sideways first rather than straight up — the sand compaction has less grip on lateral movement.
