Hydrant
Description
A Zonai water-release device that sprays a continuous stream of water when activated. The Hydrant is one of the best enabler devices in TotK — not powerful on its own, but it makes Shock Emitters and Frost Emitters dramatically more effective. It extinguishes fires, creates puddles for electricity conduction, and generates water for the Frost Emitter to freeze into platforms or walkways. Also waters crops in Hateno Village's farming mini-game. Found in Capsule Dispensers and utility-class Zonai construct loot.

Shock Emitter combo setup: Hydrant creates a puddle, Shock Emitter stuns every enemy in it
Frost Emitter combo: Hydrant creates water, Frost Emitter instantly freezes it into an ice platform or walkway
Extinguishing fire hazards blocking cave passages, paths, and shrine corridors
Filling low areas or troughs with water for puzzle solutions requiring water presence
Cooling volcanic terrain near Eldin and Death Mountain to walk safely without Flamebreaker Armor
Watering Hateno Village crops for the farming side quests

Shock Emitter combo: spray a puddle with the Hydrant first, then drop a Shock Emitter into it — instant AoE stun.

Frost Emitter combo: spray ground with Hydrant, aim Frost Emitter at the wet area — instant ice platform.

Use two Hydrants simultaneously for a large water area for wider Shock or Frost Emitter coverage.
*
Hydrant extinguishes fires — spray at flame-blocked cave entrances or burning wooden barriers.
*
Fuse a Hydrant to a vehicle: a moving Hydrant wets the ground as you drive, enabling Shock Emitter traps behind you.
*
Advanced: Hydrant on ceiling of a narrow tunnel creates a watery trap that conducts Shock perfectly to every enemy passing through.
