Arrows Guide — All Arrow Types, Fuse Combinations & Farming

Arrows are your most versatile combat resource in TotK. A plain arrow becomes a sniper round, ice bomb, or shock grenade depending on what you Fuse to it. This guide covers every arrow type, the best Fuse combinations, and where to stock up efficiently.

Base Arrow Types

| Arrow | Purchase Price | Drop Source | Notes | |-------|---------------|-------------|-------| | Arrow | 5 rupees | Shops, enemy drops | Most common — keep 200+ at all times | | Fire Arrow | 25 rupees | Bokoblins, shops | Fuse Fire Fruit instead — cheaper | | Ice Arrow | 25 rupees | Bokoblins, shops | Fuse Frost Fruit instead | | Shock Arrow | 30 rupees | Lizalfos, shops | Fuse Shock Fruit instead | | Bomb Arrow | 35 rupees | Bokoblins, shops | High splash damage | | Puffshroom Arrow | Rare drop | Sky islands | Smoke cloud on impact — great for stealth | | Dazzlefruit Arrow | Fuse only | — | Blinds/stuns enemies in burst |

Key insight: Pre-crafted elemental arrows exist but cost 25–35 rupees each. Fusing a Fire Fruit to a plain Arrow (5 rupees) produces the same fire effect — you pay 5 rupees instead of 25. Always carry seeds and fruits rather than buying elemental arrows.

Fuse Combinations by Situation

Standard Combat

| Fuse Material | Effect | Best Against | |--------------|--------|-------------| | Fire Fruit | Fire explosion | Bokoblins, ice enemies, frozen objects | | Frost Fruit | Ice burst + freeze | Moblins, horses, water enemies | | Shock Fruit | Electric explosion | Wet enemies, Metal armor, Lizalfos | | Bomb Flower | Large area explosion | Groups, distant targets | | Dazzlefruit | Flash blind | Any boss or tough miniboss — buys you free hits | | Puffshroom | Smoke concealment | Breaking enemy aggro mid-fight |

Boss & Miniboss Specific

| Boss | Best Arrow Fuse | Why | |------|----------------|-----| | Lynel | Lynel Bow + Bomb Flower | Bomb arrows from Lynel's back deal massive DPS | | Gleeok (Fire) | Frost Fruit | Freeze the heads for easy targeting | | Gleeok (Thunder) | Keese Eyeball | Tracks heads — Shock Fruit to stun mid-flight | | Gleeok (Ice) | Fire Fruit | Melt ice armor off heads | | Hinox | Eyeball (Keese/Lizalfos) | Auto-tracks the Hinox's weak eye | | Stone Talus | — (use bomb + melee) | Arrows rarely expose the ore deposit | | Flux Construct | Bomb Flower | Knock out the glowing core cube from range | | Silver Bokoblin group | Bomb Flower | One shot into the pack |

Targeting & Tracking

Keese Eyeballs are the single most valuable arrow Fuse material in the game:

  • Fuse to any arrow → homing shot that auto-targets nearest enemy
  • Against Gleeoks: fire into the general direction of flying heads → locks on automatically
  • Against Lynels: fire at any angle → arrow curves to weak point (face/eye)
  • Works at extreme range — can target enemies beyond the arrow's natural accuracy limit

Lizalfos Tail — similar homing properties but with an electric pulse on hit. Effective against wet enemies.

Where to Find Arrows

Shops (Reliable Supply)

| Shop | Location | Stock per Visit | |------|----------|----------------| | Lookout Landing | Central Hyrule, Hyrule Castle area | 20 arrows | | Rito Village | Tabantha, northwest Hyrule | 20 arrows + fire arrows | | Kakariko Village | East Hyrule | 20 arrows | | Zora's Domain | Lanayru northeast | 20 arrows + shock arrows | | Goron City | Eldin northeast | 20 arrows + bomb arrows | | Gerudo Town | Gerudo Desert southwest | 20 arrows + ice arrows | | Stable vendors | All 12 stables | 10–15 arrows |

Shop reset tip: Shops restock every 24 in-game hours. If you need arrows fast, sleep at an inn, buy, sleep again — most vendors restock daily.

Enemy Drops (Best Arrow Farming)

Bokoblin Camps — every Bokoblin archer carries 5–15 arrows. A camp with 4–5 archers drops 20–50 arrows per clear. Large skull-fortress camps (3+ floors) are best.

Best arrow farm camps:

  • Eldin Mountains skull forts — dense archer populations, respawn after blood moon
  • East Necluda ridge camps — multiple tiers, accessible early
  • Coliseum Ruins — one of the highest concentration of all enemy types including archers

Lizalfos — drop shock arrows, fire arrows, and ice arrows depending on their type. Electric Lizalfos = shock arrow drops. Blue Lizalfos = ice arrows.

Treasure Chests

Sky islands have arrow chests everywhere — many sky island puzzles have treasure chest rewards containing 5–10 specialty arrows. Do sky island exploration early for arrow stockpiles.

Efficient Arrow Farming Route

Route: Lookout Landing → Hyrule Field skull camp → Coliseum → East Necluda archer camp

  1. Buy 20 arrows at Lookout Landing (24h wait between restocks)
  2. Hyrule Field skull camp (north Hyrule Field, 3 archers) — 15–30 arrows dropped
  3. Coliseum Ruins — kill everything, collect 30–50 arrows from archer enemies
  4. Blood Moon trigger if needed — if camps are cleared, force a Blood Moon at Hyrule Castle (see Blood Moon Guide) to respawn all camps immediately
  5. East Necluda ridge camps (2–3 camps, 20–30 arrows each)

Per circuit: ~150–200 arrows in 15–20 minutes

Bomb Flower Fuse (Area Damage)

Bomb Flowers fused to arrows create the largest explosion radius of any projectible:

  • Blast radius: 5–6 meters (vs 3–4 for Bomb Arrow)
  • Chain explosions: One Bomb Flower arrow into a group lights adjacent explosive barrels or red Chu jellies
  • Destroys rock walls: Use to clear cracked mining walls without wasting a Bomb Flower from inventory

Bomb Flower farming: Depths caves, Eldin volcanic caves, and sky island caves all have Bomb Flower spawns. Any glowing ore deposits in dark areas often have Bomb Flowers nearby.

Quick Tips

  • Always keep 100+ plain arrows — you'll Fuse constantly, stock runs down fast
  • Keese Eyeballs on every Lynel fight — homing shots mean no wasted arrows even while dodging
  • Dazzlefruit before a hard boss — one blinding arrow buys 5–8 seconds of free hits on any boss
  • Puffshroom arrows for crowd escape — shoot at your feet to disappear in smoke when overwhelmed
  • Buy arrows before leaving towns — running out in remote areas (Gerudo, Hebra) is painful
  • Arrow inventory cap: 999 arrows per type. You won't hit the cap on normal arrows but specialty arrows cap out faster
  • Rain + shock arrows — hitting the ground near wet enemies with shock arrows conducts through water, hitting all nearby enemies at once
  • Aiming slow-mo — lock on with ZL, draw bow, jump forward to enter bullet time slow-mo. This window is when Keese Eyeball auto-lock is most effective
