Attack Food Guide — Stacking Maximum Damage with Mighty Meals

Attack Up food (tagged as "Mighty" in TotK) increases Link's weapon damage output for a set duration. Stacked with Attack Up armor (Fierce Deity, Barbarian, Wild sets), Mighty meals multiply your damage further — creating the highest achievable DPS in the game. This guide covers the best Mighty ingredients, optimal recipes, and how to use attack buffs strategically in boss fights.

What Attack Up (Mighty) Food Does

Mighty food adds Attack Up buff levels to Link's damage multiplier:

  • Attack Up Level 1: +20% weapon damage
  • Attack Up Level 2: +40% weapon damage
  • Attack Up Level 3: +60% weapon damage (maximum)

These stack additively with armor set bonuses (each Attack Up armor piece adds one level). Maximum stacking:

3x Attack Up from armor (Fierce Deity/Barbarian full set × per-piece bonus) + Attack Up Level 3 from food = 3+3 = 6 levels = ~120% additional damage

At maximum stack, you deal more than double your base damage output.

Best Mighty Ingredients

Tier 1 — Strongest Attack Up

Mighty Bananas (Attack Up +3 per ingredient)

  • The highest-potency Attack Up ingredient
  • Where to find: Faron jungle region, south Hyrule. Grow in dense banana tree groves around the Faron Grasslands and the path toward Lurelin Village. Also sold by Beedle at Lakeside Stable.
  • 5 Mighty Bananas = Attack Up Level 3 for the full recipe duration
  • Easiest high-tier attack ingredient to mass-farm

Razorshroom (Attack Up +2)

  • Mushroom found in forests — Akkala forests, Woodland area, and some caves
  • Strong but less concentrated than Mighty Bananas
  • Useful when Bananas are scarce

Mighty Thistle (Attack Up +1)

  • Common flower found in open fields and meadows
  • Lower potency — use as a filler with higher-tier ingredients

Tier 2 — Useful Fillers

Mighty Carp (Attack Up +2)

  • Fish found in the rivers of Lanayru and Akkala
  • Efficient if you're near water

Mighty Porgy (Attack Up +2)

  • Ocean fish found on the southern coastline near Lurelin Village
  • Same potency as Mighty Carp

Best Attack Up Recipes

Maximum Duration + Max Attack (Best Boss Prep)

3x Mighty Bananas + 2x Dragon Part (scale or fang)

  • Dragon scales (any dragon) or Dinraal's Scale added to cooking pots extends duration to 30 minutes
  • Dinraal's Scale adds 1:30 per scale; Dinraal's Horn adds 30:00 total
  • With 1 Dinraal Horn: Mighty Banana meal extends to 30:00 duration minimum
  • Yields: Attack Up Level 3 + 30:00 duration — covers almost any boss fight without mid-fight eating

Standard High-Attack Meal

5x Mighty Bananas

  • Yields: Attack Up Level 3, ~5:00–8:00 duration
  • Cheap, requires no rare materials
  • Eat right before engaging a boss

Mixed Mighty Meal

3x Mighty Bananas + 2x Razorshroom

  • Yields: Attack Up Level 3, slightly extended duration vs. pure banana
  • Use when you have surplus Razorshrooms

Budget Attack Meal

3x Razorshroom + 2x Mighty Thistle

  • Yields: Attack Up Level 2, standard duration
  • Lower than Level 3 but still useful — 40% damage increase is significant
  • Fully gatherable without Faron access

Stacking Attack Buffs — Maximum Damage Build

Full Stack (Endgame)

  1. Armor: Fierce Deity / Barbarian full set (each piece = Attack Up)
  2. Food: Mighty meal at Attack Up Level 3
  3. Weapon: High-base weapon with Lynel Horn or Gibdo Bone fusion

Result: ~120–130% bonus damage on top of base weapon damage. A Royal Claymore fused with White-Maned Lynel Horn goes from ~56 base attack to 120+ effective attack per swing with full stack.

Use for: Silver Lynel farming, Ganondorf Phase 1, Gleeok fights, any fight where time-to-kill matters

How Long the Stack Lasts

Mighty food duration:

  • No extender: 3:00–8:00 (5 Mighty Bananas)
  • With monster parts: 6:00–10:00
  • With Dragon Horns: up to 30:00

Strategy: Eat right before entering an arena, not 10 minutes earlier. Save high-duration dragon-extended meals for long boss fights (Gleeok, Ganondorf).

Mighty Banana Farming Route

Faron Jungle has the highest Mighty Banana density:

  1. Fast travel to Popla Foothills Skyview Tower
  2. Fly south toward Lurelin Village and the Faron Grasslands
  3. Collect from banana trees visible from the air — they grow in clusters
  4. A single Faron sweep post-Blood Moon yields 30–50 Mighty Bananas

Lakeside Stable purchase: Beedle at Lakeside Stable sells Mighty Bananas (30 Rupees each). Buy his stock, wait 3 days, repeat. Not as fast as foraging but convenient if passing through.

Attack Food vs. Armor Attack Bonus

A common question: is it better to wear Attack Up armor or eat Attack Up food?

Answer: Stack both.

The effects add together (not diminishing returns). Each additional Attack Up level adds 20% damage regardless of source. Maximum attack requires both full Attack Up armor AND Level 3 Attack Up food.

If you can only have one:

  • Armor: Permanent, no consumption cost — wear Attack Up armor for all combat
  • Food: Use for boss fights and difficult encounters where maximum DPS matters
