Quest Overview

A small Korok named Pepp has lost his favorite walking stick deep in the Lost Woods and cannot find his way back to the forest clearing. Navigate the Lost Woods fog using the leaf debris current (which always leads toward the forest center) to locate Pepp, pick up his walking stick, and escort him safely back to the Korok gathering area. Pepp rewards Link with a Korok Seed and introduces him to Hestu.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

1

Find Pepp in the Lost Woods

Enter the Lost Woods from the south — the fog is disorienting without guidance. Watch for leaf debris drifting in the air: it always flows toward the forest center. Follow the debris trail and listen for Pepp's small voice calling for his stick. He is approximately 200 meters in, sitting on a mossy rock beside a dead tree.

2

Retrieve the Walking Stick

Pepp's walking stick is a short carved branch that fell into a shallow mud puddle 10 meters from where he sits. Use Ultrahand to lift it from the mud without getting it further dirty — Pepp is particular about his stick. If it drops in the mud again, clean it by dipping it in the nearby clear stream.

3

Escort Pepp Back to the Clearing

With the stick retrieved, Pepp leads the way toward the forest clearing — he knows the route by heart once he has his stick. Follow him through three branching fog junctions. At each junction, Pepp turns the correct direction. The clearing appears after about two minutes of walking.

4

Collect the Reward

Back at the Korok clearing, Pepp thanks Link and drops a Korok Seed from his tiny pocket. He also introduces Link to Hestu — if this is the first Korok Seed Link is presenting to Hestu, the maracas-shaking giant rewards a Korok Seed exchange and explains the inventory upgrade system.

Pro Tips

1

Listen for the Korok chime when you are near a hidden puzzle. Turn up your sound to help locate them.

2

Some Korok puzzles require two players in co-op thinking — look for a lonely Korok who needs to be reunited with a friend.

3

Use your Purah Pad Sensor+ to track quest-related items and materials as you explore.
