Maren's Tip

Remember — if a shrine gives Rauru's Blessing with no puzzle inside, the real challenge was reaching the entrance. Check the surrounding area!

Walkthrough

  1. Step 1: Enter Tsutsu-um Shrine in Central Hyrule and observe the main chamber.
  2. At first glance, the room appears featureless — no obvious platforms, switches, or mechanisms.
  3. The key is on the ground: wooden directional stakes jut from the stone floor at intervals, each carved with an arrow tip pointing toward the next stake in a chain.
  4. This shrine is a navigation puzzle that tests observation rather than ability usage.
  5. Step 2: Locate the first stake near the entrance — its arrow carving points northeast.
  6. Walk northeast approximately 8 meters to find the second stake, which points up a slight slope to the right.
  7. The chain of stakes forms a winding path through the chamber that is not immediately obvious because the stakes are small and the chamber is large.
  8. Step 3: Follow the stake chain through three directional turns: northeast, then uphill right, then sharply left.
  9. The fourth stake in the chain points directly at a section of wall that appears solid but is actually a movable stone panel — identifiable by the thin gap around its edges and slightly different texture compared to the surrounding wall.
  10. Step 4: Use Ultrahand to grab the movable stone panel and push it aside (slide it left or right along the wall).
  11. Behind it lies a hidden corridor leading to a chest on a pedestal.
  12. Open the chest to receive a Soldier's Bow (14 attack power, reliable range and accuracy — an excellent early-game ranged weapon for Central Hyrule exploration).
  13. Step 5: Exit the hidden corridor and continue following the remaining stake chain.
  14. Two more stakes guide you along the chamber's back wall to the altar at the far end.
  15. Walk to the altar and claim your Light of Blessing.
  16. Hidden chest: The Soldier's Bow behind the movable stone panel is the shrine's only chest.
  17. Without following the stake chain, you would never know the panel exists — it is completely invisible without the directional clue.
  18. Ability needed: Ultrahand is the only ability required (to move the stone panel).
  19. The core skill tested is environmental observation — reading small visual cues in the world to find hidden paths.
  20. Pro tip: TotK hides secrets behind movable panels, breakable walls, and cracked surfaces throughout the overworld.
  21. Whenever a surface looks slightly different from its surroundings (different texture, thin gaps, cracks, or lighter color), test it with Ultrahand, a weapon strike, or a Bomb Flower.
  22. This observation habit reveals dozens of hidden caves, treasure rooms, and shortcuts across Hyrule.
