Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower

Akkala
Easy

Located on the slope of Ulri Mountain in the Akkala region of northeastern Hyrule, with a sleeping Horriblin as the only obstacle. Map region unlocked: The full Akkala region including the Sea of Akkala coastline, the Akkala Highlands, Akkala Citadel ruins, Robbie's lab, and the direction of Lomei Labyrinth Island to the far northeast. The Akkala region is one of Hyrule's most geographically isolated areas — a rugged, heavily forested highland region with sparse settlements and a coastline facing the open ocean. Akkala Citadel ruins sit to the southwest, a historically significant fortification from the Calamity War era. Robbie's Akkala Ancient Tech Lab sits to the northeast with a research assistant offering the Master Sword tracking upgrade for the Purah Pad. The coastline below Ulri Mountain holds several underwater treasure chests accessible with Zora Armor equipped for deep swimming. Dinraal (fire dragon) crosses the Akkala Highlands between dawn and mid-morning (03:00–07:00) — Ulri Mountain is one of the best intercept positions for this window. The tower launch reveals the northeastern sea horizon including the Lomei Labyrinth Island silhouette.

Activation Puzzle Walkthrough

1

The Obstacle

A Horriblin monster has nested inside the tower and is sleeping directly beneath the activation terminal, blocking access to the terminal and potentially alerting to combat if approached carelessly. The Horriblin is a cave-dwelling enemy that clings to surfaces and throws rocks when alerted.

2

The Solution

Approach options: (1) Stealth kill — approach the tower entrance in crouch mode and sneak up behind the sleeping Horriblin. Perform a sneakstrike (attack from behind while crouched) for a one-hit or near-one-hit kill before it can alert and fight. (2) Bow kill — stand at the tower entrance and fire a single well-aimed arrow through the opening at the Horriblin's glowing eye or neck for a critical sleeping-target kill. Most bows deal enough damage to kill it in one critical hit. (3) Fight — if it wakes up, back up out of the tower to avoid its rock-throwing attacks in the enclosed space and engage at range. Horribleins are not difficult in the open. Once eliminated, activate the terminal. Map region unlocked: Akkala region, the Sea of Akkala coastline, the Akkala Highlands, and the northeastern approaches including the Lomei Labyrinth Island direction.

Tips

Shoot the sleeping Horriblin through the entrance opening with a single arrow aimed at its glowing eye for a clean sleeping-target critical kill before it wakes.

If the Horriblin wakes up, back out of the tower immediately — it throws rocks in the confined space. Create distance and use bow shots in the open rather than fighting in the enclosed tower interior.

Dinraal crosses the Akkala region between 03:00 and 07:00 in-game time — launch from this tower during that window for a clean dawn Dinraal intercept without traveling to Eldin.

After launching, glide northeast toward the Sea of Akkala to spot the Lomei Labyrinth Island silhouette on the horizon — a challenging optional puzzle dungeon with unique rewards.

Akkala Stable to the east has Robbie's research base nearby (Akkala Ancient Tech Lab) — visit to unlock the Master Sword tracking and Light Dragon path overlay on the Purah Pad.

Underwater treasure chests are visible from the clifftop below the tower — equip Zora Armor and dive off the coastal cliffs to retrieve them from the Akkala sea floor.

A Hinox sleeps in the forest clearing northeast of the tower — defeat it for a high-value equipment chest on its necklace and several large monster parts.

The Akkala Highlands above the tower contain Luminous Stone and Opal ore deposits in cliff face nodes — worth mining for rupee income during the mid-game.
