Frost Emitter
Description
Emits a continuous high-pressure stream of ice that freezes enemies solid and creates ice surfaces on water. A frozen enemy is immobilized completely and takes double damage from the very next physical hit — making the Frost Emitter the premier setup device for burst damage combos. Excellent for crossing water bodies without swimming: aim at a river surface and walk across the ice bridge it creates. Critical weapon against Fire Gleeoks, whose fire attacks are directly countered by ice. Found in Capsule Dispensers and rare loot on colder Sky Island areas.
Best Uses
Freeze-then-shatter DPS combo: freeze any enemy, then heavy melee for double damage
Ice walkway generation across rivers, lakes, and the Zora Domain waters
Fire Gleeok weakness exploitation — point the emitter at all three heads
Frost trap at enemy camp chokepoints — enemies walking through freeze in place
Immobilizing Lynel before a mounted attack sequence for free damage
Freezing Gloom pools to create safe walking surfaces in the Depths (temporary)
Pro Tips
*
Aim at any water surface to create an ice walkway instantly — no swimming or Zora Armor needed.
*
Frozen enemies take double damage from the next hit. Freeze + two-handed weapon overhead swing = massive burst.
*
Essential for Fire Gleeok: spray all three heads during ground phase for maximum freeze buildup.
*
Synergy with Hydrant: Hydrant creates water, Frost Emitter immediately freezes it into a platform.
*
Fuse to a shield: parrying with a Frost Emitter shield creates a freeze burst around you — crowd control.
*
Counter: Ice Gleeoks and Gibdo enemies in cold regions are fully immune to freeze.
*
Advanced: mount on a vehicle turret pointing forward — any enemy in your path gets frozen as you drive through.
