Best Arrow Fusions Guide — Top Arrow Types & Combinations

Arrows are heavily customizable in TotK through Fuse — you can attach almost any item to create unique arrow types. This guide ranks the best arrow fusions and when to use each.

Arrow Fusion Basics

How to fuse arrows:

  1. Draw your bow (ZR)
  2. While holding, open the item menu to select a fuse material
  3. Release → fused arrow fires

Or: Pre-fuse in inventory by selecting the material → fuse to arrow

Key rule: The arrow inherits both the material's damage AND its element. Gems add elemental damage. Explosive items add area damage.

S-Tier Arrow Fusions

Bomb Flower Arrow (Best General Purpose)

Fuse: Normal Arrow + Bomb Flower Effect: Explosive burst on impact — ~3-4x regular arrow damage, area of effect Best for: Groups of enemies, breaking rock walls, Talus ore nodes, Gleeok head gems

Why S-tier: Bomb Flowers are available from vendors, Depths cave plants, and plant-heavy areas. The damage + AoE makes them efficient against virtually everything.

Savage Lynel Bow + Any Gem (Best Single-Target DPS)

Setup: Savage Lynel Bow (5 simultaneous shots) + Topaz/Ruby/Sapphire fused arrow Effect: 5 arrows fire at once, each with the elemental gem effect Damage: Each gem adds +4-8 elemental damage × 5 shots = massive burst

Best gem choices:

  • Topaz (electric) → stun + damage, great against wet enemies
  • Sapphire (ice) → freeze on hit + damage
  • Ruby (fire) → fire damage, good against ice enemies

Why S-tier: The 5-shot multiplier makes gem arrows extremely efficient. One Topaz fused to a Lynel Bow arrow = 5 arrows with electric effect.

Keese Eyeball Arrow (Auto-Lock Tracking)

Fuse: Normal Arrow + Keese Eyeball (from any Keese) Effect: Arrow curves toward the nearest enemy automatically Best for: Moving targets, aerial enemies, hitting distant enemies without precision aiming

Why S-tier: Auto-tracking completely bypasses the need for precise aim against many enemies. Essential for Keese swarms, Lizalfos that dodge, and airborne enemies.

Variants:

  • Regular Keese Eyeball: basic tracking
  • Fire Keese Eyeball: tracking + fire damage
  • Electric Keese Eyeball: tracking + shock damage
  • Ice Keese Eyeball: tracking + ice/freeze

Electric Keese Eyeball + Lynel Bow = 5 tracking electric arrows per shot. Destroys most enemies.

Bomb Arrow (Purchased/Found)

Regular Bomb Arrows (pre-made, from shops or enemy drops):

  • Available from Lookout Landing and most merchants
  • No fusing required — just fire
  • Less damage than Bomb Flower fused arrows but no material cost

A-Tier Arrow Fusions

Topaz Arrow (Thunder Arrow)

Fuse: Arrow + Topaz Effect: Lightning bolt on impact + electric AoE Best for: Groups of enemies in water, metal-armored enemies, Thunder Gleeok setup

Note: Topaz is somewhat common from ore nodes (180R value) — use freely as needed.

Sapphire Arrow (Ice Arrow)

Fuse: Arrow + Sapphire Effect: Ice burst on impact, chance to freeze enemies Best for: Fire enemies (Igneo Talus, Fire Gleeok heads), freezing Lynels for parry setup

Freeze mechanic: Frozen enemies take double damage from the next hit and stay vulnerable briefly — combine Sapphire Arrow to freeze, then melee combo.

Ruby Arrow (Fire Arrow)

Fuse: Arrow + Ruby Effect: Fire burst on impact Best for: Ice enemies (Frost Talus, Frost Lizalfos), exploding wood/plant obstacles, Chuchu Jellies

Muddle Bud Arrow (Confusion)

Fuse: Arrow + Muddle Bud Effect: Hit enemy becomes "muddled" — attacks its allies for 30 seconds Best for: Large camps (hit the strongest enemy, it kills its friends), Moblin camps

Source: Muddle Buds found in swampy/wetland areas.

B-Tier Arrow Fusions

Dazzlefruit Arrow (Flash)

Fuse: Arrow + Dazzlefruit Effect: Bright flash on impact, temporarily blinds/stuns nearby enemies Best for: Crowd control when surrounded

Puffshroom Arrow (Smoke Screen)

Fuse: Arrow + Puffshroom Effect: Creates smoke cloud on impact, disorienting enemies Best for: Escaping, creating distance

Situation-Specific Guide

| Situation | Best Arrow Fusion | |-----------|-----------------| | Gleeok head gems | Bomb Flower or Ice/Fire (element match) | | Lynel fight | Electric Keese Eyeball + Savage Lynel Bow | | Enemy camp | Bomb Flower (AoE) or Muddle Bud (confusion) | | Aerial enemies | Keese Eyeball (tracking) | | Frozen water puzzle | Ruby Arrow (melts ice) | | Wet enemies | Topaz Arrow (water amplifies electric) | | Stalnox/Stal enemies | Fire Arrow (bone weakness) | | Wood/plant obstacles | Ruby Arrow (fire) |

Arrow Farming

Cheapest Source

  • Lookout Landing merchant sells basic arrows in bulk (25-50 at a time)
  • Enemy drops — Bokoblins, Lizalfos, and archers drop arrows when killed
  • Chests — Arrow bundles in most dungeon and Depths chests

Bomb Flowers

  • Found in Depths caves growing on cave walls (the distinctive glowing orange)
  • Eldin Canyon and Death Mountain caves have higher density
  • Respawn on Blood Moon

Keese Eyeballs

  • Kill Keese (small bat enemies, everywhere at night and in caves)
  • Electric Keese Eyeballs: Kill Electric Keese specifically (Lanayru wetlands, stormy areas)
  • Fire Keese Eyeballs: Eldin Canyon caves

Multi-Shot Bow Math

Multi-shot bows make gem/Keese arrow fusions dramatically more efficient:

| Bow | Shots/Draw | Effect with 1 Topaz | |-----|-----------|---------------------| | Basic Bow | 1 | 1 electric hit | | Duplex Bow | 2 | 2 electric hits | | Lynel Bow (White-Maned) | 3 | 3 electric hits | | Savage Lynel Bow | 5 | 5 electric hits |

One gem with a Savage Lynel Bow = 5 elemental hits per arrow pull. It's the most efficient gem consumption method in combat.
