Golden Horse (Zelda's Horse)
About Golden Horse (Zelda's Horse)
A stunning golden-coated horse with a gleaming white mane, said to be a descendant of the royal horse ridden by Princess Zelda herself. This quest-locked unique mount is found at the end of the "Potential Princess Sightings" side quest chain and boasts excellent balanced stats — 4 speed, 3 pull, 3 stamina — making it one of the strongest all-around mounts in the game. Its golden coat is truly unique in all of Hyrule: no other horse has this sun-touched coloring. The Golden Horse carries the weight of Zelda's legacy, and registering it feels like preserving a piece of Hyrulean royalty. Unlike most unique horses, it can be fully customized with any saddle or bridle.
Where to Find Golden Horse (Zelda's Horse)
Detailed Location
The Golden Horse appears only as part of the "Potential Princess Sightings" side quest, which begins at the Lucky Clover Gazette in Rito Village (Tabantha region). Penn the journalist assigns you a series of stable visits across all of Hyrule. Each visit reveals a prank or false sighting of Princess Zelda. After completing enough sightings, the final lead directs you to the Snowfield Stable area in the far northwest, where the Golden Horse grazes in the snowy fields north of the Tabantha Tundra. Final spawn coordinates: approximately (-1535, 2662, 235), near the snowdrift ridgeline above Snowfield Stable. It only spawns after the quest flag triggers — you cannot find it by searching early.
How to Tame Golden Horse (Zelda's Horse)
1
Complete the "Potential Princess Sightings" side quest chain first. Begin at the Lucky Clover Gazette near Rito Village — speak to Penn and follow the investigation across multiple stables.
2
After completing enough stable sightings (typically 8-10), Penn will direct you to the final location near Snowfield Stable where the Golden Horse has been spotted.
3
Dress in Snowquill armor or eat a warm meal before approaching — the area is cold and you will need focus, not health tick.
4
Sneak up on the Golden Horse from behind while crouching. Use Stealth gear or a Sneaky Elixir for the safest approach.
5
Wild temperament requires roughly 1.5 stamina wheels of soothing. Mash L continuously once mounted.
6
Have a stamina-restoring meal or two in your quick-use slots in case you run low during the taming sequence.
7
After soothing, ride directly to Snowfield Stable (close by) and register immediately. Do not delay.

Tips & Advice
•
Start "Potential Princess Sightings" at the Lucky Clover Gazette early in the game — it is a long chain and the Golden Horse is a great reward.
•
The full quest chain takes you to many stables across Hyrule, making it an efficient way to discover all 15 stables while earning money.
•
Its 4/3/3 stat spread is excellent for overland exploration — enough speed to close distances quickly with enough stamina to sustain sprints.
•
Pair it with the Traveler's Saddle (Pony Points: 3) for a regal exploration aesthetic, or the Royal Saddle (9 points) to honor Zelda's legacy.
•
Malanya the Horse God can revive the Golden Horse if it dies — always worth the trip to the Lake of the Horse God.
