About Solid Tan Horse

A wild horse with a light tan or warm buckskin coat — one of the more attractive common wild coat colors in Hyrule. Tan horses are moderately common in the warmer, lower-elevation grasslands and tend to have well-rounded stats with a slight lean toward stamina and gentle temperament. The warm golden-tan coat has an earthy, natural beauty that pairs well with rustic or nature-themed stable gear. For early- to mid-game players, a solid tan horse with gentle temperament and 4 stamina spurs is one of the easiest competent mounts to find and ride.

Where to Find Solid Tan Horse

Detailed Location

Tan horses appear in the warmer, lower-elevation zones. Most reliable spawns: the Faron Grasslands around Lake Hylia and the Lakeside Stable area, the East Necluda plains near Dueling Peaks Stable, and the southern portions of Hyrule Field. They appear in mixed herds alongside brown and spotted horses — look for the lighter golden-tan coats among darker brown companions. Spawn frequency is moderate — about half as common as brown horses but more common than blue or black ones.

How to Tame Solid Tan Horse

1

Gentle temperament makes this easy to tame with minimal stamina. Roughly half a stamina wheel at most.

2

Crouch-approach from behind and mount. Soothe with L.

3

Gentle horses forgive slightly noisy approaches better than wild or fierce types.

4

A good choice for players who want competent stats without the taming challenge of fierce or wild mounts.

Unique Traits

Warm golden-tan coat — attractive earth tone, somewhat less common than basic brown.

Gentle temperament — the most obedient temperament category, making it very responsive to steering.

Slightly above-average stamina (4 spurs) for a common wild horse — better than standard balanced mounts.

Fully customizable with all standard horse gear.

Tips & Advice

Gentle temperament is a significant advantage in handling — turns execute faster and direction changes feel immediate compared to wild-temperament horses of equal stats.

A good early-to-mid game primary mount. The 3/3/4 profile with gentle temperament outperforms some 4/3/3 wild-temperament horses for everyday riding.

Customize with earth-toned or natural-palette gear to complement the buckskin coat.

Found commonly in Faron — register one at Highland Stable for convenient access when working in the south.
