Enter the Lost Woods from the Surface

In TotK, the Lost Woods entrance is blocked by a massive Gloom-filled chasm north of Woodland Stable. To reach Korok Forest you must instead descend into the Depths via the Minshi Woods Chasm and navigate underground. Look for the Minshi Woods Chasm northeast of Eldin Canyon — drop in and travel through the Depths toward the area beneath the Lost Woods.

Navigate the Depths Toward Korok Forest

In the Depths, the route to Korok Forest runs north-northwest through Gloom-saturated tunnels. Light Brightbloom Seeds frequently to see ahead. Follow the large root structures overhead — the Great Deku Tree's roots penetrate the Depths ceiling and serve as a natural compass pointing toward Korok Forest. Defeat or avoid the Gloom Hands encountered en route.

Ascend Through the Roots

Beneath Korok Forest, locate the cluster of massive hollow root chambers. Use Ascend to phase upward through the root ceilings in sequence — each layer brings you closer to the surface. The final Ascend deposits you directly inside Korok Forest, bypassing the Lost Woods fog entirely. The forest interior is now visible and accessible.

Defeat Phantom Ganon and Access Musanokir Shrine

Upon entering Korok Forest, you find it shrouded in Gloom and the Koroks are in a panic. A Phantom Ganon boss fight triggers in the forest clearing — defeat it using your best weapons and the sage companions. Once Phantom Ganon is destroyed, the Gloom lifts. The Great Deku Tree thanks Link and the Musanokir Shrine becomes accessible in the forest.
