Find Koltin and Learn the Trade
Koltin is a Korok who wears a Bokoblin costume and desperately wants to become a monster. Find him and his brother Kilton near Woodland Stable — Koltin has set up a trading post where he exchanges increasingly bizarre monster-themed gear for Bubbul Gems. Bubbul Gems are dropped by Bubbulfrogs, glowing frog-like creatures that live in caves across Hyrule. Each cave typically has one Bubbulfrog lurking inside.

Collect Bubbul Gems from Caves
To collect gems, explore caves throughout Hyrule and listen for the distinctive bubbling sound that indicates a Bubbulfrog is present. Bubbulfrogs cling to cave ceilings and walls and are passive until you shoot them with an arrow or startle them. Each kill drops one Bubbul Gem. There are 147 caves in Hyrule with Bubbulfrogs inside, making this a long-term collection quest that rewards thorough cave exploration.

Trade Gems for Monster Gear
Return to Koltin periodically as your gem count grows. His reward tiers scale with your gem total: 1 gem gets a Bokoblin Mask, 3 gems for a Lizalfos Mask, 10 gems for the Mystic Robe chest piece, 20 gems for Mystic Trousers, 45 gems for the Mystic Headpiece (completing the set). The Mystic Armor set increases the amount of Rupees enemies drop when defeated, making it extremely valuable for farming.

Complete Koltin's Quest and Claim the Final Reward
After trading enough gems to exhaust Koltin's inventory, he declares himself sufficiently monster-like and performs a dance with his brother Kilton. The final reward — a Mystic Robe set piece — requires the most gems but provides a permanent passive Rupee drop bonus. With the full Mystic Armor set equipped, enemies drop 1.5x to 2x their normal Rupee value, making it the best gold-farming armor in the game.
