Maren's Tip
Remember — if a shrine gives Rauru's Blessing with no puzzle inside, the real challenge was reaching the entrance. Check the surrounding area!
Walkthrough
- Step 1: Enter Kisinona Shrine in Central Hyrule and survey the wind-based puzzle layout.
- Three Zonai Fan mechanisms are mounted at fixed positions around the chamber, and three pressure plates must be activated simultaneously to open the altar gate.
- Each fan interacts with a movable block, but none of the fan-block-plate combinations work correctly in their default configuration — you must adjust each one.
- Step 2: Fan 1 is mounted on the left wall, pointing due east.
- It blows a wooden block across the floor, but the block overshoots Plate 1 by approximately 3 meters.
- Use Ultrahand to grab the fan housing and rotate it slightly to point southeast (about 20 degrees clockwise).
- Activate the fan — the adjusted angle shortens the blow distance so the wooden block stops directly on Plate 1.
- The plate clicks and glows.
- Step 3: Fan 2 is on the floor, pointing straight up.
- It creates a vertical wind column but accomplishes nothing in its current configuration.
- Use Ultrahand to detach Fan 2 from the floor and attach it to the underside of a flat platform nearby.
- This creates an updraft vehicle.
- Stand on the platform and activate the fan — the updraft lifts you to the upper ledge where Plate 2 sits.
- Step onto Plate 2 and it activates under your weight.
- Important: you must remain on Plate 2 or place a heavy object on it to keep it active.
- Step 4: Fan 3 on the right side already points toward Plate 3, but the small block it currently pushes is too light — the wind blows it past the plate without enough weight to depress it.
- Look nearby for the heavy stone cube (approximately twice the small block's size).
- Use Ultrahand to swap the small block for the heavy cube in front of Fan 3.
- Activate the fan — the heavier cube slides to Plate 3 and its greater weight depresses the plate fully.
- Step 5: With all three plates active simultaneously, the altar chamber gate opens.
- Proceed through and claim your Light of Blessing.
- Hidden chest: On the upper ledge near Plate 2, a chest sits in an alcove containing a Great Thunderblade (fused with electric energy — deals shock damage and is devastating in rainy weather when enemies are wet).
- Ability needed: Ultrahand is the primary ability for repositioning fans, blocks, and building the updraft vehicle.
- Understanding Zonai Fan orientation and how wind force interacts with object weight is the core puzzle concept.
- Pro tip: The principle that heavier objects require more force and lighter objects overshoot applies throughout TotK's physics system.
- When building vehicles or launching objects, always consider the weight-to-force ratio — too much fan power on a light vehicle makes it uncontrollable, while too little on a heavy vehicle means it barely moves.
