Hyrule Field Skyview Tower
Located in the heart of Hyrule Field south of Lookout Landing, this deceptively challenging tower sits in the most-traveled area of the game but requires a clever multi-step solution combining construction site awareness with the Recall ability. The NPC Sawson adds entertaining and contextual dialogue as a frustrated builder locked out of his own tower. Map region unlocked: South-central Hyrule Field, the southern grassland approaches, and the northern Faron region transition corridor. Hyrule Field is the central open grassland historically connecting all regions of Hyrule — the busiest trade route and most strategically contested territory during Calamity Ganon's era. The tower sits at a crossroads of four major regional paths, making it one of the most valuable fast-travel nodes in the game for mid-game efficiency. The surrounding field has the highest Korok seed density of any tower area (10 visible nearby seeds), making the tower a natural anchor for Korok hunting sessions in the central grassland. Weather-dependent resource spawns in the field include Thunderwing Butterflies during storms, Sunset Fireflies at dusk, and Cold Darner dragonflies in morning fog. From the tower launch, all surrounding regional towers are visible on a clear day — an excellent strategic scouting position for planning the next survey mission.
Activation Puzzle Walkthrough
The Obstacle
The tower is entirely surrounded by construction scaffolding with all access doors and windows boarded shut from the outside. An NPC named Sawson stands outside the tower looking frustrated at the construction situation. There is no standard ground-level entry — every normal door is sealed from the outside by planks and construction materials, and the scaffolding blocks climbing the exterior walls directly.
The Solution
Speak with Sawson first to hear his dialogue about the construction situation — he mentions that all doors are boarded and wonders about entering from above. Look around the scaffolding for falling stone platforms or swinging construction debris nearby. Use the Recall ability on a falling chunk of construction debris or a swinging scaffolding platform — Recall reverses its movement, sending it back up along its fall path. Ride the recalled debris or platform upward to the scaffolding roof level. From this elevated position, paraglide carefully toward the tower roof. Drop through the round circular opening at the very top of the tower where the launch mechanism protrudes from the roof — this opening is always unobstructed. Fall straight down through it to land inside the tower near the terminal on the ground level. Activate the terminal. Map region unlocked: South-central Hyrule Field, southern Hyrule, and the northern Faron region transition zone.
Tips
Talk to Sawson first to trigger the contextual dialogue and receive the hint about entering from above — skipping his dialogue makes the puzzle less immediately obvious.
Look for construction debris (falling stone chunks, swinging wooden platforms) near the scaffolding base — activate Recall on a falling piece and ride it back upward to scaffolding roof height.
Once at the scaffolding roof level, paraglide carefully to the circular opening at the very top of the tower and drop straight down through it — land inside near the terminal.
This tower is close to Lookout Landing — prioritize it early in the game after you receive the Recall ability from the Temple of Time. It unlocks the south-central Hyrule map critical for mid-game navigation.
The 10 nearby Korok seeds make this area the highest-density Korok zone in the central region — bring Korok notes and check all tree clusters, rock patterns, acorn holes, and flower rings in the surrounding field.
Thunderwing Butterflies spawn in the field during thunderstorm weather — a valuable shock-resist elixir ingredient, farmable here without needing to travel to specialized biomes.
From the tower launch, the southern Faron region and northern Lanayru approaches are both visible — use the aerial survey view to spot unexplored areas and plan ground travel efficiently.
Sawson appears as a recurring NPC at multiple Skyview Tower locations throughout Hyrule in different construction situations — speak to him at each location for unique contextual dialogue and minor side rewards.
