Flame Emitter
Description
Emits a continuous directional stream of fire when powered. One of the most versatile Zonai combat devices — devastating against ice-type enemies like Frost Gleeoks, Freezard Zonai units, and ice-armored enemies. Fused to a shield, it releases a fire burst on every perfect parry, making it a powerful AoE melee support tool. Also doubles as the heat source for hot air balloon vehicles — without a Flame Emitter (or campfire), Balloons will not inflate. Found in Capsule Dispensers and as loot on Sky Island combat encounter areas.
Best Uses
Fire damage stream against Frost Gleeoks, ice enemies, and vegetation
Flame-fused shield: every perfect parry releases a fire AoE burst on nearby enemies
Heat source for Balloon-based vehicles — point upward beneath the balloon
Stationary fire trap at corridor chokepoints or enemy patrol routes
Clearing dense vegetation, wooden barriers, and spider-web cave obstructions
Area denial in combat — create a fire wall enemies must walk through
Campfire substitute: place near a cooking pot to cook meals in the field
Pro Tips
*
Fuse to a shield and parry for a fire burst AoE — damages every non-fire-immune enemy in close range.
*
Place directly beneath a Balloon pointing upward for the hot air balloon build. Toggle on/off for altitude.
*
Flame Emitters light campfires and cook food — use one near a Portable Pot for field cooking anywhere.
*
Synergy: Flame Emitter + Hydrant = Flame Emitter turns the water to steam, briefly stunning nearby enemies.
*
Synergy with Balloon builds: using two Flame Emitters gives more heat and faster ascent.
*
Advanced: mount on a rotating platform for a 360-degree spinning fire trap that auto-hits everything nearby.
*
Counter: Fire Gleeoks and Scamp enemies are immune. Do not waste Flame Emitters on fire-type creatures.
