Description

The weakest armed Zonai automaton, found on early Sky Islands. Wields elemental weapons but is slow and predictable. Good loot source for Zonai Charges in the early game.

Weakness

Captain Construct I's primary weakness is Block arrows, close in for melee — avoid elemental attacks.

How to Beat Captain Construct I

1. Captain Constructs are armed Zonai automatons that guard Sky Islands and Depths areas.
2. They are the humanoid combat equivalent of Flux Constructs.
3. Captain Construct I is the most basic variant, encountered on early Sky Islands.
4. Combat Overview: Captain Construct I wields a basic elemental weapon (flame sword, ice bow, or shock staff) and a shield.
5. It fights with methodical, predictable patterns — fire three arrows, then close for melee, then back off.
6. The elemental attacks are the primary hazard.
7. Against fire weapons: equip flame protection or dodge the flame swings.
8. Against ice bows: strafe to dodge the ice arrows, then close in during reload animation.
9. Against shock staffs: unequip metal weapons and approach from the side.
10. Strategy: Shield-blocking its arrows and closing to melee range is the simplest approach.
11. The Construct's melee attacks are slow and well-telegraphed — sidestep and hit from the flank.
12. Repeat until defeated.
13. Captain Construct I drops Construct Bows, which are basic but serviceable early-game weapons.
14. Their elemental variants make them useful for elemental combat before you find better gear.
