Maren's Tip
Remember — if a shrine gives Rauru's Blessing with no puzzle inside, the real challenge was reaching the entrance. Check the surrounding area!
Walkthrough
- Step 1: Enter Dokabok Shrine on a Sky region island platform and prepare for a beginner-level combat encounter against a single weakened Construct Soldier.
- This shrine is designed as an early-game combat tutorial, but the open-air platform with no guardrails adds a unique environmental hazard — falling off the edge sends you plummeting thousands of meters, requiring you to Paraglider back up and retry, wasting significant stamina.
- Step 2: Upon entering the arena, observe the Construct Soldier's patrol pattern.
- It walks clockwise around a large central stone pillar at a steady pace, pausing briefly at each cardinal point (north, east, south, west) before continuing.
- The Construct is a basic melee variant with a Construct Sword and no shield.
- Step 3: Position yourself behind the central stone pillar, opposite the Construct's current position.
- Wait for it to patrol around to your side — when its back is facing you (it has not detected you yet), sprint forward and deliver a backstab attack by pressing Y while directly behind it.
- The backstab deals double damage and staggers the Construct for 2 seconds.
- Step 4: Immediately follow the backstab with two more melee strikes.
- The Construct's total health pool is low enough that the backstab plus two regular hits should defeat it.
- If it survives, it will attempt a slow overhead sword swing — sidestep to either side (not backward, to avoid the platform edge) and deliver the finishing blow.
- Step 5: Once the Construct falls, it drops a Construct Horn and its Construct Sword.
- Pick up both — the horn is a useful Fuse material (adds 5 attack power) and the sword serves as a reliable backup weapon.
- Step 6: The altar sits on the platform's east side, marked by its distinctive green glow.
- Walk over and claim your Light of Blessing.
- Hidden chest: A small chest sits on the platform's northern edge, partially obscured by the central stone pillar.
- It contains three arrows — easy to miss if you head straight to the altar after the fight.
- Ability needed: No shrine abilities required — pure melee combat.
- Pro tip: This shrine teaches the fundamental stealth-combat loop: observe patrol pattern, position for backstab, execute, follow up.
- This same approach works on nearly every patrolling enemy in TotK, including Bokoblin camps, Lizalfos sentries, and even some mini-bosses.
- Master it here and it pays dividends throughout the entire game.
