All Armor Sets Guide — Every Set in TotK
TotK has over 20 distinct armor sets. This guide lists every set, its stats, set bonus (if any), and where to obtain it. Use this as a reference for what to farm, buy, or unlock.
How Armor Sets Work
- Most sets have 3 pieces (head, body, legs)
- Wearing 2+ pieces of the same set = partial set bonus (some sets)
- Wearing all 3 pieces = full set bonus
- Each piece can be upgraded at a Great Fairy Fountain (4 upgrade tiers)
- Maximum defense per piece at 4-star: 20 defense (varies by set)
Combat Armor Sets
Barbarian Armor
Effect: Attack Up (per piece) + Charge Atk. Stamina Up (full set 2-star) Per piece bonus: Attack Up Level 1 Full set bonus (2-star): Charge Atk. Stamina Up — reduces stamina cost of charge attacks Base defense: 3 per piece Where to find: 3 ancient ruins shrines — each piece in a separate ancient shrine chest
- Barbarian Helm: Ruto Mountain area cave shrine
- Barbarian Armor: Crenel Hills area cave
- Barbarian Leg Wraps: Walnot Mountain cave
Best for: DPS builds, Lynel fights, charged attack spam
Soldier's Armor
Effect: Base defense only (no special effect) Full set bonus: None Base defense: 5 per piece (highest base defense of a non-special set) Where to find: Purchased from merchants or found in chests
- Available at Goron City (partial), Trading Posts, and Akkala Stable area
Best for: Tanking, early-mid game when defense is prioritized
Royal Guard Armor
Effect: Charge Atk. Stamina Up per piece Full set bonus: Additional Charge Atk. Stamina Up stacking Where to find: Hyrule Castle — each piece in specific chest locations
- Cap: 2F corridor chest
- Uniform: Lower courtyard barracks
- Boots: Underground armory
Best for: Charge attack builds (combo with Barbarian for max charge stamina)
Resistance Armor Sets
Snowquill Set
Effect: Cold Resistance (Level 1 per piece, Level 2 at 2 pieces) Full set bonus (2-star): Unfreezeable — immune to being frozen Where to find: Rito Village shop — 2,150 Rupees total Best for: Hebra Mountains, Tabantha Tundra, Mount Lanayru
Flamebreaker Armor
Effect: Flame Guard (fire resistance) per piece Full set bonus (2-star): Fireproof — can enter extreme fire areas and fight Igneo enemies safely Where to find: Goron City shop — 2,350 Rupees total Best for: Death Mountain, Fire Temple, Igneo Talus, Fire Gleeok
Rubber Armor
Effect: Shock Resistance per piece Full set bonus (2-star): Unshockable — immune to electric damage Where to find: 3 separate cave/shrine locations
- Rubber Helm: Caves in Akkala or Lanayru region
- Rubber Armor: Hyrule Field cave area
- Rubber Tights: Another cave location Best for: Thunder Gleeok, Queen Gibdo Phase 2, Thunderstorms
Desert Voe Armor
Effect: Heat Resistance per piece Full set bonus (2-star): Flamebreaker (different from fire — specifically desert heat) Where to find: Gerudo Town underground shop (require vai disguise) Best for: Gerudo Desert daytime exploration, Lanayru heated areas
Zora Armor
Effect: Swim Speed Up per piece + Swim Dash Stamina Up Full set bonus: Waterfall Climbing — allows swimming up waterfalls Where to find: Zora's Domain quests and chests
- Zora Helm: Underwater chest near Zora's Domain
- Zora Armor: Earned through the Zora main quest
- Zora Greaves: Side quest in Zora's Domain Best for: Water Temple, Lanayru exploration, underwater navigation
Climber's Bandana / Climbing Set
Effect: Climb Speed Up per piece + Climbing Jump Stamina Up (full set) Where to find: 3 cave locations
- Climber's Bandana: Ploymous Mountain Cave (Akkala)
- Climbing Gear: Upland Lindor Cave (Hyrule Ridge)
- Climbing Boots: Mount Dunsel Cave (Faron) Best for: Eldin climbing, Death Mountain, any vertical navigation
Stealth Armor
Effect: Stealth Up per piece Full set bonus (2-star): Night Speed Up — faster movement at night when in stealth Where to find: Kakariko Village shop Best for: Horse taming, sneaking into enemy camps, Yiga Clan areas
Special/Quest Armor Sets
Fierce Deity Armor
Effect: Attack Up per piece + Charge Atk. Stamina Up (2-star full set) Where to find: Amiibo (Majora's Mask Link) OR Akkala Depths chest Best for: Attack builds, combat-only
Radiant Armor
Effect: Bone Atk. Up (per piece) + Stal enemy lure (glowing effect) Where to find: Gerudo Town — Greta's Jewelry shop, 1,800 Rupees total Best for: Stal enemy farming, Depths Stal areas
Phantom Armor
Effect: Attack Up per piece (no set bonus, only 3 pieces each separate) Where to find: 3 chests in Hyrule — each a treasure chest requiring puzzle/exploration
- Phantom Helmet: Typhlo Ruins area
- Phantom Armor: Hyrule Castle underground
- Phantom Greaves: Another hidden chest location Best for: Strong early attack boost (high base Attack Up)
Zonaite Armor
Effect: Construct Ward per piece (reduces damage from Construct enemies) Full set bonus: Energy Recharge — Energy Cell recharges faster Where to find: Depths chests and Zonai-themed areas Best for: Depths exploration, Construct factory runs, Energy Cell management
Zonaite Helm / Set (Extended)
Note: Some pieces of Zonaite Armor require Depths exploration to find all three.
Elemental Combat Sets
Gloom Armor (Royal Family Armor)
Effect: Attack Up + interaction with Gloom-based damage Where to find: Specific Depths chests under Hyrule Castle Best for: Depths combat
Single-Piece / Special Items
Thunder Helm
Effect: Lightning Resistance (full, single piece) — no set Where to find: Gerudo Resistance side quest reward Best for: Thunder Gleeok, Queen Gibdo Phase 2
Ancient Hero's Aspect
Effect: Cosmetic — transforms Link's appearance into the ancient hero Where to find: Complete all 152 shrines Defense: Unknown/cosmetic only Best for: Style, completion reward
